WHAT IS (EC) ELIMINATION COMMUNICATION TRAINING?

Elimination Communication is a gentle, non-coercive way to respond to a baby’s natural hygiene needs, from as early as birth. Like all mammals, human babies instinctually resist soiling themselves, their sleep space, and their caregivers, and they clearly communicate about it from birth. With EC, we learn baby's signals and natural rhythms and assist them with this process until they naturally gain independence (usually by 9-18 months of age).

With EC, we tune into what our babies are born asking for, team up to help them use the toilet while they develop motor skills and long-term memory, and eventually teach them how to do it themselves. It's a very natural transition to toilet independence. Parents who EC, use the diaper as a "back-up" instead of a permanent, wearable toilet. We invest our time up-front (not as much as you'd guess) so we don't have to potty train and reteach our children to go in the toilet later.

It’s made of sturdy, yet lightweight, recyclable plastic and comes with a 100% Cotton non-dyed fleece, machine washable, potty cozy to keep your baby comfortable and warm. If the cozy happens to be in the wash, our potty is still very comfortable - it is super smooth and flexible for your baby's bottom.

PROFESSIONALLY DESIGNED – Our infant toilet training top hat potty was designed and created by EC expert, author, and mother of 5, Andrea Olson from Asheville, North Carolina. It weighs only 5 oz, and measures 7” x 7” x 4.5” inches. It will easily fit into your diaper bag (or diaper-free-bag!) for on-the-go use.

ANTI-SLIPPAGE – This baby potty has a 5” x 5/8” inch rubber band around its body to prevent slippage. This will ensure the top hat stays firmly between your legs without fear of tipping over.
