I have had this product for a couple of weeks now. I originally thought that it was excess sawdust coming off of the desk because it's wood. I saw a couple of strange looking bugs, but I didn't know what they were. I saw more sawdust after cleaning it and I looked closer and saw tunnel holes in the desk. I now have to have my apartment fumigated to ensure that there aren't anymore bugs. I can't believe that this product was sent out to me in this kind of condition!!!

I want to like this product. It looks great from the top and works pretty well, except for the terrible quality of construction that makes me think it’s all about to fall apart.Within a few hours of opening the (damaged) packaging and using the item, the tiny drawer (barely usable, too small for pencils) broke off. I turned the whole thing over to inspect it and the little runner had popped off, having been held on my tiny flimsy staples. I then noticed that the frame underneath was coming apart in one corner, having been held by the same flimsy staples and no wood glue. I’m going to add some wood glue and clamp it together to see if I can fix it myself.

The legs have nothing to hold them on place for storing while not in use, neither does the drawer, so trying to put it somewhere when not in use is a pain...plus it makes the drawer useless. The seemingly sturdy design is also misleading as the edges of the frame are not properly anchored. With the help of a drill and some wood glue, I was able to make it usable, but if I could go back, I would have looked for another similar item that I did not have to perform "surgery" on after only 2 uses.

This is not very stable ... If you put the laptop and let the surface be at a slope, the wooden stick that holds the surface might just get loose and it will hit your body ... The product is not bad ... but the price is way too high given the quality I purchased.

My review doesn't reflect all the positive reviews I read. Overall, poor design/manufacture. 1.- I found it to be much heavier than expected, since it says it is made of bamboo. 2-The little drawer only opens about an inch. I have tapped on the back side of it, tugged and pulled, and it just won't open and close as it should. 3-The legs should have been angled out a little wider, in my opinion, or some locking mechanism used. The legs will easily fold in, causing it to collapse unexpectedly. When I lift it to set it on the floor next to the bed, the legs drop down vertically and cause it crash down, if I don't hold them out while sitting it down. 4.-The grooved slots to hold the wire brace that adjusts the reading angle aren't all milled out enough to hold the brace. Only a couple of them are.

I’m disappointed with this lap desk. While it has some great potential...it’s very generic and cheap. The wood is splintered in spots, the hinges came with the screws loose (come to find out, the screws just won’t hold), one of the pegs on the bottom rest piece doesn’t fit in the hole, there’s raised spot on the “table top” where one of the screws has started to push through the top, and there isn’t anything to hold the legs up into the top for ease of storage. Wish I would have kept shopping around. Hopefully we can use a little larger screws for the hinges, sand the splintered spots off, and sand down the peg without breaking it off because it’s not worth the hassle of shipping back. Huge disappointment.

Great desk though mine came slightly damaged. It was missing a small chunk. Hopefully just a defective item. Otherwise the desk is beautiful, nice look, lightweight. I’ll be ordering another once I return this one.

I have a HP Pavilion 15.6" laptop I wanted a portable laptop desk so I could use the laptop on the couch in the living room.So I noticed this laptop portable desk when search for something else on Amazon and thought how pretty it was and it matches my floors in the whole house I just spent a year sanding and polyurethaning so I decided to buy this for that reason compared to other style portable desks.I had some question that this model portable desk would be big enough as my laptop is 15.6" diagonally. I was going to be a similar portable desktop that was larger but I realized that portable desk would probably be bigger than I like on my couch in my lap. So I measured my laptop width & depth and compared them to the portable desk dimensions here and it fit exactly, maybe the laptop was a millimeter too big. That was good enough fit though so I ordered this desk model instead of the larger desk model.+s & -s:a) The desk is nicely made as pictured.b) The drawer however is loose so it will fall open but not fall out when you carry the desk to put it up it you carry it the wrong way.c) The lip that holds the bar that keeps the laptop in place if you raise the laptop desk support must be put in place by you.d) On the inner edge of the raised laptop table is a bit rough as it wasn't sanded but you won't get splinters.e) Exact right size for a 15.6" laptop with no room to spare.f) side area is enough room to use your mouse.g) The grooves that lodge the metal bar that holds up the laptop desk support are goodNow how well you can use this desk depends really on how soft your couch or bed is. Too soft and you'll find it difficult if not impossible to use but if the couch or bed you have is firm enough this portable desk delivers everything thing they promise at a good price. The only slight complaint is the loose drawer (but it doesn't fall all the way out to break).

There are no safety guards on the legs to keep the tray legs from collapsing on a soft surface. Only good for table top use, and not for bed tray or on other soft surfaces.

Everything about this was to picture until I had to put the one piece that came unattached, which was off by a centimetre. It was the piece that would keep your laptop from sliding off. Also, the surface was rough and needed to be smoothed out by sanding it.

Clean look and okay if you lay flat but when you use the legs, it is not sturdy. Legs will collapse by itself. Should have a lock or hatchet to secure the legs.Update: two days ago part of the leg broke apart! So changed to 1 star.

Amazing product! One of the legs is just a little more loose than the other one, but I made it work. I use it all the time when I don’t want to sit at my desk

The lightweight, yet sturdy bed tray is an excellent tool for kids and teens learning from home. Tablets and iPads sit well on the adjustable top.
