Wayyy better than Manscaped
Got this after my manscaped lawnmower died. This clipper is durable and high quality. It has a nice weight and fits in the hand well. Its odd shape makes it really easy to reach difficult and awkward spots. It isn’t quiet, but not too noisy either. It’s easy to clean and maintain and comes with a nice carrying case. It is highly functional and cuts my hair more cleanly than any other device I have used. The thing’s motor is powerful and got me scared at first, but once I was brave enough I found it is surprisingly gentle on my skin so long as I’m being careful and deliberate. I haven’t cut myself with this yet but the manscaped lawnmower cut me lots. Do yourself a favor and just get this.

This is a body hair trimmer, not a beard trimmer or for haircuts.
This product is specialized for one purpose only - to trim and/or shave body hair, including pubic hair, etc. My first (and so far, only) use of this product was very educational. I will share my experience here. I began by shaving around my anus, the perineum (the area between the anus and scrotum), the shaft of my penis, and the area surrounding my penis. I used no guard for all of these operations, with no nicking or cutting of the skin. I shaved the areas dry, not wet. When I attempted to shave my scrotum, without the guard, I did receive a few small nicks and cuts. Nothing serious, but as careful as I was, I was not successful at shaving the scrotum safely. Instead, I purchased a Venus 3 blade razor, and successfully, safely, and quickly was able to shave my scrotum a few days later, using shaving creme, with only one minor nick (not even really a nick) at the base of my penis, due to not being careful enough. The nick was so small it was negligable. That being said, do not use the trimmer to shave your scrotum unless you use the minimal attachment that comes attached to the trimmer when you open the box. You can use the trimmer, with the guide attached to it, to shave the longest part of the hairs on your scrotum to about 1/4 inch. At that point, if you wish to have a smooth scrotum, use some shaving cream with the Venus 3 blade shaver. As far as body hair trimming goes, I shaved my armpits without any attachment, and made them smooth. I also shaved small areas of my shoulders and back with no attachments. For the chest and stomach areas, I think the minimal attachment, is best, unless you wish to shave those areas smooth, in which case you can safely do so with no attachments on the trimmer. All of your shaving with this trimmer should be done dry, with no shaving creme, water, etc. Only use shaving creme or soap to shave the scrotum, with a Venus 3 blade razor - pulling the skin taut, as you do so, so you do not cut or nick yourself. For the job this trimmer is designed to do, I give it an A+. Just don't believe the other reviews which state that you can shave your scrotum without an attachment - believe me, you will probably get some nicks on your scrotum if you follow their advice. Using the Venus 3 blade shaver for my scrotum and shaft of my penis only took less than 5 minutes to complete, with shaving creme, in the bathtub. The battery lasts for a long time. I think my first session took at least 40 minutes, doing my whole body, and the battery had not died yet. The trimmer comes with a two-year manufacturer's warranty, so I doubt you will need the Additional Asurion warranty that is offered. However that's a personal choice. The manufacturer's warranty is very good, and covers worn out parts like the trimmer teeth and batteries, which are a biggie, because the batteries are ni-cad, not lithium. Overall, I can say that I highly recommend this trimmer, for its intended uses only.

Great trimmer; Not-so-great skin guard attachment/charger.
I've had this for almost two years and it still works great.I give it 4 stars for the following reasons:1. The clip on the back of the skin guard attachment cracked so it no longer clips firmly in place and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a replacement. Buyer beware!2. The charger is a bulky 1.7 volt/1.5 amp charger. This makes it impossible to find a universal USB-C charger/adapter that works to charge this which means one more thing to have to carry when traveling.

Excellent BodyGroomer replacement, but with some caveats.
I've been buying various Norelco Body Groomers for the last 10+ years and have always been kind of disappointed with their performance. My last dual-sided unit finally gave up the ghost on the trimmer side, and I was ready to try something new. I've always wanted one of the Panasonic hair shavers and just use one of those, but the price kept me away. For the record: I'm a white male with at best described "fine" to medium body hair, so your results may vary if you have very coarse, thick hair. The box has two guards in addition to the standard guard. If you're coming from the Body Groomer like me, the initial silver guard runs a trimming length more or less the same length as if you were running guard free on the "trimmer" side, but with the benefit of having an actual guard on it, which is helpful if you've ever taken a chunk of your skin with the Philips unit. The teeth on the Panasonic trimmer are much much finer than the BodyGroomer, so guard free trimming will get pretty close to a smooth shave, but more on that later.I found it worked best on the neck and below. Using the guard end on my upper lip/face was rather disconcerting, but it might just be a personal feeling kind of thing. Doing my chest/groin/the few shoulder hairs/armpits was fine, if much easier because of the guard on it, and the ergonomics felt better. Trimming my arm hair (I don't really do it that often, but felt like testing the trimmer out) was more of a long winded chore like any other trimmer of this type, but I found I didn't have to go back and forth over the same spot so much as I did with the Philips, even when new. Doing my legs (bike racer here) with the narrow head though, was a long process, and it'd be faster honestly if you just stuck with a razor. On a side note, I really liked the fact the trimmer charger was part of a plug stand instead of having an ugly cable with a barrel connector, which cuts down the bathroom cabinet clutter.I don't particularly like lubricating the blade. I know any good trimmer requires proper lubrication for good cutting, but coming from 10+ years on the body groomers with no need for lubrication makes disassembly and reassembly sort of feel odd. Some angles get a little awkward with the toothbrush angle versus the straight style. The included travel bag is pretty cheap feeling and barely above a ziplock bag as far as quality goes.Long term support/battery life is yet to be determined, but I'm pretty much convinced by the quality it cuts.Nice job, Panasonic!

Excellent groomer! Could use an extender.
This is an excellent groomer - certainly the best that I have ever used on my body and I’ve tried several!!Panasonic should offer an extender so men can use it on their backs and it would be perfect.
