It seems like some of the protective ball doesn't come off sometimes and makes writing scratchy. Any suggestions? When they're smooth, they're great.

I’v found that warming the pen up a bit by putting it under my desk lamp, or holding it in my hand for a bit has made the writing smoother, but I also think it may just have to do with the color of the ink because I remember buying the purple one 2 times from different places and they both don’t work as well as some of the others.
