The keyboard I've been on the hunt for!
I do a lot of transcription for various fields. I need to be fast so I wanted keys with short travel, felt more like a laptop keyboard but with tactile feel. I like crisp, clean keystrokes. I also wanted a keyboard where I could replace the switches. Doing so much transcription wears out my keyboards fairly quickly, and I was tired of buying replacements twice a year. This keyboard has answered my desires. There is a bit of a learning curve. There's slight feel of resistance in the switch. I believe these are blue switches though I read elsewhere they've switched to yellow; not sure if mine are yellow. However, if you're used to pounding the keys on other keyboards you will realize you don't have to do that on the Keychron K1. The slight bit of resistance from the switch will make you feel as if you have to hit hard, but that will result finger fatigue. No need to pound; the actuation is very short. The switch has a nice clickiness, which could be annoying maybe in an office setting, but I really love the clicks, and it's actually not that loud to me, just noticeable. The caps are small but not any smaller than a laptop, I feel; about the size of Chiclet gum. The keys are flat, smooth, not slippery, so it's easy to flow across the keyboard once you get the hang of typing on this. It took maybe a day's worth of typing to get used to the keyboard. I enjoy the lights. I do not use Bluetooth connection. I use the USB-C cord that came with it. Strokes show up right away, no double lettering or lagginess. After purchasing maybe 10 keyboards searching for the "Goldilocks - this one is just right," I'm thoroughly loving the Keychron K1. It will definitely be difficult to return to a standard keyboard with more travel and chunkier keys. I'm actually considering buying another Keychron K1.

slim profile - extremely lightweight - very durable
i love this keyboard. working in the IT space alot of my colleagues have mechanical keyboards, and its not uncommon to see them around. the keyboard on the first day i had it attracted alot of attention because of the very sleek, and slim profile. the backlight is awesome the keyboard is extremely responsive - really its everything youd want in a keyboard of this kind.i use a windows machine at work. And although the keyboard comes with mac keys installed by default there are swappable windows keys that are included. unfortunately the tabs on a few of the keys i received were broken, but thats no reason to give this product a star less of a review. ill just have to make due with the mac keys.great product.

Blue switch, required bigger force to press with un-even frictions
This is my first low-profile Gatron blueswitch. I used many standard blue/Brown/Red. Usually Red was too light for me, brown was ok and blue had right pressure on my finger. This keyboard, due to short profile, I tend to hit bottom much more, and 55g force is a bit higher than my usual typing. I type a lot and this make my finger very fatigue. Also I use my pinky to type "a", "z" and sometimes, these key shows some additional friction. It seem when I press top-down with right angle, I don't feel it but slightly off angle make additional frictions when I press it.I like the shape and profile but this is very different blue key. If you expect standard size blue key, this maybe quiet heavy (for me, it almost feel like typing black switch).Updated rating. Keyboard is well built and overall solid keyboard with bluetooth, Mac support except switch.

A great, first mechanical keyboard.
The K1 v.4 blue switch mechanical keyboard has been an excellent replacement for my Apple Magic Keyboard. I had originally tried the K2, though ok its thickness requires a wrist rest which you can get used to, but it takes up too much space on my desk. The other problem was the lack of an option key on the right side of the spacebar which I use for foreign language characters, which the K1 has. The blue keys on the K1 feel just right, if only a little shallow compared to the satisfying click on the K2, but that's the tradeoff to have a thin profile that's only about twice as thick as the practically flat Magic Keyboard. The Magic Trackpad still fits nicely alongside the K1.The battery in the K1 is half the capacity of the K2, and if you use RGB lighting effects a lot you may need to charge it every couple of days. I turned off the automatic sleep feature since it takes a few moments to wake up when you start typing again missing the first few keystrokes. My approach has been to manually turn off the backlight with the keyboard brightness key when I leave my desk, that way the keyboard is always on and ready to go when I come back and I can turn the light back on with one click. If you're really into modifying your key caps then the K1 V4 is not a good option since I have not yet seen any 3rd party replacements in different colors though from what I've read some low-profile Kailh keycaps will work but not for all of the keys. Overall a great first mechanical keyboard, the included extra orange keycap to replace the installed grey one for lighting effects and to match the escape key on the opposite side has been flair enough for me.

Was great now it’s terrible…
initially loved my Keychron K1 keyboard—it had a sleek design, great build quality, and the typing experience was fantastic. However, over time, it has become frustrating to use. Keys often don’t register, and some get jammed, making typing inconsistent and unreliable. It’s disappointing because I expected better long-term performance given the price and reputation. Hopefully, Keychron can address these issues in future models.
