Great scanner for the price!
So far I have scanned over 4,800 images and I have been very pleased with the quality of the scans. Not only does it scan multiple images at once, it will often put them in the right direction. And it will still scan an image correctly even if it isn't exactly straight. Sometimes an image may need to be rescanned, but I found this to be only sometimes and with certain images over others. The 4x6 seemed to have the most rescanned and even those were not that many.A few times the images on the scanner bed were scanned all as one image but that was very rare and I found switching to a different selection of images resolved the problem. This occasionally happened with black and white images. Swapping out one of the images for one of color always resolved the problem. The scanner software, despite what some reported, works great for scanning the images and for simple cropping. I really like that you can continue to scan images instead of sending them to your computer after each scan. It makes the process much faster. Additional photo editing would probably best be done in dedicated software.Despite the minor negatives I have mentioned, I still give it 5 stars because it honestly deserves it, in my opinion. No, it is not a professional scanner, but most of us do not need to scan our family photos in a professional scanner. The scans are clear and concise. Exactly what is needed. The scanner is super lightweight and easy to store. And very convenient since it only needs to be connected to your computer and not to a power source.I have had a lot of scanners over the years and honestly I was trying to avoid scanning all of my photos on a flatbed scanner, remembering how torturous it was to get the photo straight in the past. But I am so glad that I took the chance and made the purchase of this scanner.

Perfection!
I totally love this scanner, it's perfect for what it is and for what I need. I'm not going to compare it to high priced scanners, because that's not what I bought. This was quite economical and I wanted it to scan boxes of family snapshots. I read the reviews and took the other reviewers suggestions to heart.First install your program disc before every attaching the scanner. It went fine for me on a Windows 10 laptop. When I then attached the laptop, per USB port, it powered right up and was recognized by the computer. No power cord needed.I had better luck starting the scan from the icon on the computer that pushing the button on the scanner. There were a couple of times when it didn't communicate, but I didn't have that problem by going right to the icon to bring up the scan box. I scanned in the pre-set auto mode of 300 dpi since I was scanning simple snapshots, in black and white, for viewing. I still have the originals, so if I want to do anything with them I can always rescan at a higher resolution.Initially I was scanning one at a time, and it was going fairly quickly. I could scan, rename, tweak exposure, and file in about a minute to a minute and a half. You can scan several pictures at once, as long as you keep a nice buffer around the edges so that the scanner differentiates separate photos. It takes longer per scan, but goes quicker over all since you're getting multiples at once. Each photo pops up in the pictures folder individually. If they are too close together you get one scan of several images together.I've scanned almost 600 photos already and I'm very pleased with how it's worked. It wasn't noisy as some have complained about. There is some whirring sounds as the mechanism moves over the images, but it's not loud and you know it's working. I found it extremely convenient, very easy to use, and the results more than acceptable. It's lightweight, you don't need a power source other than the computer itself, and very portable. Throw in a price well under $100 and it's a great value. I couldn't be happier.

Update of Review - Not Impossible to Install After All
Update: I finally did get the Epson software downloaded and installed on both Windows 7 and finally on Windows11, too. It isn't intuitive and took multiple attempts. The scanner works on Windows 7, but it isn't fast. It works on Windows 11 and if used on a USB 3.0/3.1 port it's pretty sprightly.I'm much happier with this scanner now.The specs on this scanner sound great. The price looked great. I have 50+ years of mine and ancient family photos to scan. I've spent a couple of days trying to install this scanner with no success. I first tried to install on a Windows 11 laptop and then backed down to my old, and favorite, Windows 7 laptop and neither will work with this scanner. The printed documentation consists of just a Quick Start Guide in multiple languages.I'm super disappointed because my first scanner was an Epson flatbed that was perfect but is now obsolete; I had high hopes and expectations for this one. I would not recommend this to anyone. I wil be returning it.
