I have occasional eczema breakouts. And it's reflected on my lips by making them severely chapped and cracked. To the point that my lips will crack and bleed if I smile. NOTHING cures it except this lip balm. Every other balm will slightly hydrate my lips while it's on but then my lips immediately get flakey and cracked when it wears off. This lip balm though, it heals my cracked lips within 24 hours of starting treatment. My lips feel soft again even after the balm wears off. Now the bad reviews talk about an older formula. Where it was silkier? Yes this balm is thick. Definitely more waxy than it is silky. But I believe it is that waxiness that gives it the healing properties. It coats the lips with healing oils and waxes that are not easy to wear off. Gives the lips a barrier to heal. Whatever it is, it truly is a miracle!

Based on some other reviews, I was worried that the formula would not be good anymore. I discovered this magical lip balm when working at a health food store in NY years ago. Totally worth every penny. I haven't seen in on the store shelves in the past years but remembered it since it's been a rough winter and my lips are in a bad way. So glad I remembered the name. The original packaging had a typo- spread "evently" on the lips instead of "evenly". That always made me laugh. Yes, the formula is changed slightly but it has the same scent and same lasting power, slightly less gritty than the original. I'm glad I've re-discovered this balm wonder. Please keep making it!!

I am a lip balm junkie. I have used everything from vaseline to all natural lip products. NOTHING has helped my lips like this stuff. I would give it 10 stars if I could. I used to put lip balm on every 20 minutes. Now, between this balm and another from "The Beauty Within Us", I only need to use this once in the morning, and once at night. (Of course, reapplying after eating or drinking as well). I don't have the peeling that I used to, and my lips feel soft and hydrated! I am starting my new collection of lip balms, and it includes this one and one more. That's it! The rest are going in the pit of no return.

Perfect chapstick. My problem is solely with the delivery. It said that the envelope was delivered and I couldn’t find it. I check the app and there’s a picture of the delivery....right with all my trash..... I’m going to go through the garbage and hopefully find it but guys....jeez.......

These are wonderful lip balms that are very moisturizing. I must have gotten a bad batch because this one is not smooth as usual and is very chalky. It feels like sandpaper when applied but if you rub it in it still is moisturizing. If it was a smooth one I would give it 5 stars for sure!

I’ve been using this stuff for almost 25 years and it’s the best. I remember a day I could get it at my local Co-op Grocer for $4.95, so 3X the price after 20 years is a bit shocking, but I love it and it’s very moisturizing and I don’t need to reapply as often as others I’ve tried over the years. My last order was rancid, unfortunately. Maybe a bad batch, but I can’t find that Mode de Vie is operating anymore, so maybe what is available is the last of a dying I’m entire and company (not sure). Thankfully, I found an alternative I like probably just as much, called La La Lips.

Feels like crappy lip balm now. Not worth the cost whatsoever. I used to love the original version, it was silky and very long lasting. Gladly paid the cost for years. I wont be ordering this again.

This lip balm is the best I've ever tried. My lips are soft and moisturised all day. I've been using this for 2 years now. I tried others but I always came back to this one.
