Low price high fidelity
Turns your phone into a first class audiophile streamer. Match with a good pair IEMs like the Truthear Crinicle Reds or the Hexa and you have a budget hifi that people spend thousands of pounds to achieve. I have both and I just love the sound.

Ridiculously good sound quality for the price
I have to admit I've been on a quest to find one of these DAC/Amps that actually delivered on the hype. I've been through Moondrop/Fiio/Tanjem et all devices and I've found their Achilles heel sound quality wise. I want a device I can use whilst rowing, but also one that can power full-size headphones (some high impedance) as well as low impedance/high efficiency IEMs; I did initially give up and built my own Frankenstein setup comprising a Topping NX7 and a used Arcam rPac which I obtained from eBay and did a little refurbishment/maintenance on (re-soldered the input jacks as they inevitably succumb to the primary plug/unplug stresses). The sound of the NX7/rPack combination is particularly convincing (almost holographic, even for headphones) when connected to a pair of Quad ERA-1s, with fabulous dynamic and slam, where present. However the NX7/rPac combo is hardly something that could be worn on the belt whilst rowing and more lends itself as a travel DAC/Amp combo that one would take on holiday or on a business trip. Then I read about these in the esteemed New York Times (and also the usual FoTM ravings on YouTube) so purchased the with cynical view as to what I would hear. Well, surprise, surprise, whilst not having the transparency, refinement or outright slam of the Toppong/rPack, the Fosi presents a shockingly good rendition of the music presented to it and and is a good 70-80% of the Topping/rPac combo. So, I highly recommend this little device for serious listening with good headphones. One YouTuber mentioned this could replace a desktop amp/DAC to which my reaction at the time was "BS", but I think, at a pinch it probably could. I'm still going to use the Topping/rPac/Quad combo for travel/holidays, but for walking around town, or going to the gym, this little DAC/Amp, IMO, is as close to a true hi-fi experience you're going to get on the move (with the right headphones/IEMs of course).

Decent for the price
Good entry level DAC to get you into the streaming world. I paired this with a pair of Fostex T60RP and I was happy with the sound produced from it, I highly recommend using a 4.4mm balanced cable with this, the 3.5mm is far too quiet. The 4.4mm connection will drive your headphones much better, I wouldn't recommend this as a desktop setup, I would recommend something like the Ifi Dac V3 (yes more expensive but far better), however as a portable way to stream high quality music on the go I am happy with what I received and paid for and would recommend.

Absolutely amazing
Tested for 2 days now and am loving the details and clarity it offers. Listening to music ( streaming and lossless files )via phone through my headphone(px7 cable) or as aux to car and portable speakers with all EQ and sound enhancement off, am enjoying music like never before. Its my fav purchase now. Definitely worth the money.

Useless with modern smartphones
Does increase detail when it works but I find with my pixel 9 pro XL that it has an intermittent crackling sound when used with sennheiser iem 200s No matter what it do in the settings it remains. I would imagine it needs a firmware update. Might keep it for use on other devices but be aware if you are getting this for modern smartphones. Shame.

Fosi quality but does not work with iPhone 17 pro max
I am a Fosi fan having for the past two years used many hours daily their Fosi Audio K5. The build quality is what I have come to expect from a premium device maker. I have given three stars because, even with the iPhone 17 pro max volume maxed the output to my Sennheiser HD 599SE the power was lacking. But crucially the volume controls did not work. Sound was clear but lacked base. As I said I like Fosi products, so I will update the review when Apple releases their ios update for 26.1, having admitted there were too many bugs. So maybe after the release, if the volume controls work i will resubmit my review.

Turn off any auto mixing
Very nearly sent back, sometimes it would go silent for a sec when changing tracks on apple music until I figured out this was because auto mixing was on and was mixing two different sample rates, after I turned it off no more problems, excellent sound for the price and would recommend, reviewed using iPhone 17 pro max and Sony mx5 headphones

This portable DAC is super impressive and is a solid little unit. Very easy to use and gives you the choice of unbalanced 3.5mm or balanced 4.4mm. I have been running this little guy off my Sonim XP Pro with a pair of Audix A10 IEMs using the 3.5mm input and I could not be happier. Unit is super simple to use and is plug n play. Sound quality is fantastic with good separation and with a level of airiness I didnt know my IEMs could achieve. For the price you honestly can not go wrong. Highs are crisp and detailed, mids are forward but not overwhelming and bass response is fast with no muddiness which should be expect as this unit uses an ESS chip. Amplification is also great. I have been able to run everything from IEMS to my reference headphones (MB QUART QP400 300ohm) with no issues. My favorite thing about this unit is the volume buttons have lots of steps in the level of control you have, so its easy to find the perfect volume. During extended use it does get a tad warm and serves as a nice little hand warmer as some other reviews have mentioned but not hot to the point of it being a concern. If you are in the market for a portable DAC/Amp for headphones or IEMs this is a great option. I am looking forward to trying the DS2 next to see how it compares as that unit uses a different chip set.

Bluffant. !!! Je recommande.
