Q: The cap I got with this has two layers but the inner layer doesn't have holes. Do you break the inner layer with the hook as you get the strands out?

Yes. U don't want to bleach hair except where u pull it out of the holes. The second solid layer protects what u don't want hilited. Start off hi lighting less than u think until u see the results. U can always do again in a month. I've been using this on my fragile natural blonde hair for decades. Good luck. The more u do it the better u get. L'Oréal stopped testing this on animals, too.

Q: Does this work on Indian Black hair?

This produces a caramel colored highlight. I have only done it on my own dark blonde hair and don’t know how it works on other shades. It should still produce a caramel color, I would think. Your best bet is to try it on the end of one of your hair strands.

Q: Does it come with a frost cap

Yup, it sure does and hooks to pull the hair through the holes in the cap....All frosting kits should come with these. Well, unless you get the hair painting type!? Which, personally I don't care for. Good luck

Q: Can this be used over hair that is dyed?

Great at home alternative

Love this product. It’s great for adding face framing subtle highlights. I don’t use the cap just brush on a few highlights on my ends and around face in between professional foil or balayage visits. I watched several YouTube videos tutorials and have been using this product for years. It’s easy and way less expensive than salon visits.

Easy to use with an attractive result.

I have been using this for years to give myself face-frame highlights. I am able to get two highlightings out of the box. I have mid-brown hair and have to leave the product on for 50 minutes to get the result I want (even with using the hairdryer every 5 minutes). I do have a problem with the shape of the cap which doesn't conform to the top of my head, but I have been able to buy caps which fit better, so I'm satisfied overall.

Missing parts

I mixed up all the products together to find out it only filled up a quarter of the tub! I had to make it work/last. Fortunately I have short hair. It also didn’t come with the plastic wrap for over the head. So I put Saran Wrap around my head! What a day! Ugh It turned out ok only because I’ve lighten my own hair all the time.
