Does Its Job, And Does It Well
I've never left a review for garden shears before. But I've had quite a few, and they've all seemed to do well until the point where they begin to get loose or the springs fall out. I bought this one to replace the last in a series of garden shears I wore out. I basically expected the same from these. I was mildly surprised. These seem sturdier, and they fit in my hand better. The latch type closing mechanism works better than anything I've used before, because you just close the handles and flip the very simple latch into place. No muss, no fuss. It's a very simple design which just makes sense, and which no one else (that I've tried, at least) seems to use.The spring mechanism follows the same design philosophy. Instead of using a standard coiled spring affixed between the two handles (which eventually breaks or goes boinging off into the yard when the shears have worn out), this one uses something akin to a spiral torsion spring. It works better, and feels much sturdier than the standard springs on any of the garden shears I've used before. In the end, this one just works, and it works well. I've been clearing out a lot of brush and sapling trees out of our yard. I use this, and two loppers of different sizes, to break down branches and sampling into a small, easily disposable pile. I always start with these shears, breaking down leaf stems and smaller branches until I reach a point where it starts meeting notable resistance. Then I switch to the smaller loppers to move on to the mid-sized branches, and use the larger loppers on branches that are sometimes up to 2 inches thick. I have no doubt that these garden shears will hold its own against those sturdy loppers which I've had for many years. In the end, all I want to say about these garden shears is that if they, along with the loppers, can help me break down small young trees, it'll definitely hold up to every day gardening. I've found by all-time favorite garden shears, and as long as Hewog makes them, these are the only garden shears I'll buy. It's safe to say I was impressed with the ones I bought.

Sharp and Easy Pruning
Great value and they work well. Easy grip and smooth operation. Very pleased with these.

Pretty sharp, good weight, but not as smooth as others, foam is worthless.
Updated Review after use -Actually got around to using these. The are heavier than most, which I prefer, actually makes trimming larger branches easier to have some good weight behind the grip. They are very sharp out of the box and the mechanism is pretty good, but not as good as some of my old Fiskars which made cutting thick branches like butter, these are decent, but not the best. The foam padding on the handles feels okay, but is a bit bulky to hold, and after 15 minutes of trimming rose bushes the foam starts to fall apart or come loose. Honestly, they don't even need the foam, it rolls right off and underneath are nice solid handles with a sort of texturized protective coating.Definitely better than the ultra cheap light weigh trimmers, but not as good as some of the more expensive although they look like they should be heavy duty. Almost perfect, but not quite.

Good Quality
I mostly use these for pruning rosebushes, and so far they work great! They are heavy duty but don't take a lot of hand strength. The blades are very sharp and thick. I really like the rubber pads on the grips as I have lots of scar tissue and arthritis from hand surgeries, and the rubber helps with lack of dexterity. Good quality pruners at an affordable price.

Good Pruning Sheers
Pruning sheets are well made and sharp. They have a comfortable grip.

Love them but…
The media could not be loaded. These are great garden shears and cut through pretty much everything I’ve tried (not so great on thicker wire but then that’s not their job) . The handle grip feels great and are still like new after a year of use. The spring that opens them is strong but does not take a strong grip. The only downside is that they open pretty wide and my grip is too short. The spread of my hand (tip of pinky to tip of thump open as wide as I can) is just a bit over 7”. So if you have small hands these may frustrate you. I would not recommend them for someone with arthritis/full use of fingers for this reason.

Well made satisfaction
These pruners have a good ergonomic design for large hands. A good positive latch though it takes a little getting used to after using my major brand for about twenty years. I bought these to replace the major brand (eaten by my chipper...lol) that replaced the 20 y.o. pruners that I enjoyed using. Sharp wide opening blade and jaw. So far so good.

Pretty good garden shears
Not the best shears I’ve ever owned but adequate for the price. They do have excellent hand padding. I’ve purchased these previously and was obviously willing to buy again.
