Great buy
Works great after 15+ spools. Solid product. Great stand! Also an easily adaptable product.

Thought it was an upgrade
I returned the item because I thought it was an upgrade for the Ender 3V3KE. It’s actually a standard feature on that model, I will say it is amazing. Now I did have to thread the sensor while running a print to keep from stopping the time lapse video. It’s very possible to change colors with the option of color change software and without stopping the printer.

Back up sensor
I had an issue with the sensor on my printer and thought it would need to be replaced. The issue resolved on its own (I think something got jammed in the sensor). I now have this as a back up part. It looks well built and will be easy to swap out if my present sensor has issues again. And it was reasonably priced.

Do not follow the instructions they send. it does work well though
Instructions on this are horrible... Plugged this into the board with the 3 pin they show on the instructions and then once I ran the wire all the way up through to the sensor, it has a 4 pin on the other end. THIS IS BACKWARDS. the 3 pin on the instructions is for z-axis overtravel or something. the board has a 4 pin plug that this needs to go into, not 3 pin, figured that out on the forums. You also need to make sure the z axis lead screws are locked in some way because you will lose position when you take the top piece off to run the wire and I cannot find documentation on how to guarantee that the lead screws are in the correct position. after I got all that sorted out it does properly alert you of filament runout and it does not just shut the machine off.

Works great, hard to install
This is a great accessory and will save you headaches when printing near the end of a spool. However, it does require a fair bit of disassembly of your printer so it's best to install it before putting your printer together. The key thing to know is that the instructions are wrong. The cable that plugs into the base connects to a different part of the board. See photos here and other reviews. Once installed, it works like a charm.

Works great
Print yourself a spool stand and a mounting bracket for the sensor, get your spool off the top, fix that z-wobble.I didn’t have any issues with install; there was one side of the cable that clearly only fits the mainboard header.

Terrible
The product has no instructions on how to assemble the filament sensor or how/where to download the software to run the device. Thankfully, I also purchase a touch sensor of my printer, which did come with a manual on how to update the firmware. Unfortunately, this did not help me much as Creality’s website I an absolute maze. There were multiple different softwares with no in-depth explanation for what they were for. Again, my touch sensor manual saved me as there was an option to download the software for the touch sensor that also included the software for the filament sensor. Once I found the files, uploading them to my printer was another nightmare. Long story short, the printer wasn’t seeing my files because it shared the same name as another file on my printer, so the software needed to be renamed (as anything but what it is downloaded as). Once the firmware was set up, I needed to disassemble my entire printer just to install a small panel onto the side of it. (I don’t know if it is just my printer but there has to be a better solution m). After the hours needed to set the filament sensor up, I was hoping to be rewarded with a functioning product, but when I began running my printer, it kept complaining that I was changing the filament when I was not. On further inspection, the switch inside the device was seated slightly too far back, making it impossible to detect the filament running through it. Overall, if you are looking to add some extra weight to your printer and lose a few hours of your day, this is the perfect product for you.

Works well, install is a bit of a pain
Just got it set up, and it works just as expected. Install was a bit of a pain in the a**, requiring the near complete disassembly of the x-axis / extruder assembly, a firmware update as well as some g-code terminal commands to adjust probe offset, but it seems to be working just fine now.
