Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Dry Bag Set, Ultralight Waterproof Stuff Sack (3L, 5L, and 8L)

These bags are very lightweight, waterproof, and durable. I purchased two a number of years ago and have used them on bikepacking trips for years. I originally purchased them to hold dirty or wet clothes on bike trips so that the other things in my bags wouldn't funk up. They work brilliantly for this purpose and are plenty durable for use inside backpacks or panniers. I do not think they'd be suitable for situations where they'd come into regular contact with thorns or rocks. This year my son had to use panniers that were not waterproof. We ordered 6 more (two three packs) so that his important stuff would stay dry during downpours. I have pretty much converted from other packing solutions to these. My one nit-pick is that they don't have a valve to let air out and aid in compressing the as I have seen on other heavier duty bags. That said, they are really quite easy to close in a compacted state, and adding a valve would likely increase the weight by 50% or more.

When keeping your items dry means the difference between success and failure, Sea to Summit has you covered. I backpack in the deep backcountry and keeping my clothing dry is the difference between warm and dry or hypothermia. Simply put, they work! I can compress the air out to conserve space in my pack and keep my items dry and that is especially important if you are a day or two from civilization.

This set of dry bags contains 3 of the smaller sizes, each of which (when full) fit within my day pack/backpack and meet my needs pretty well. Empty, they roll up compactly so they barely take up any room and are super light. The material is thin (I measure about 3 mils), but at the same time feels decently sturdy. Workmanship looks good in regards to the taping and stitching at the seams. Overall, happy with this set.

Love these bags, Ultra-sil is fairly amazing, thin but also nice and dry yet super durable. Good collection of (smaller) and fun colors.

Ich habe sie für meine Alpenüberquerung gekauft. Sie sind stabil, halten absolut dicht bei jeglichem Regen und sind gut zu schließen. Der ganze Rucksack ist dadurch gut organisiert. Top! Ich habe sie 13 Tage lang auf Herz und Nieren getestet (mit leider der einen oder anderen Flut im Rucksack). Alles dicht!
