Works well
Love it. Make sure you get the battery and charger included. Will buy the mulcher and lawn stripper add on. Wheels leave a groove in the grass. Used multiple times now and I’m happy with the cut

My first electric mower
I spent ages comparing the various models and reading a lot of reviews before hitting the buy button. Some of the petrol rotary mowers were tempting but ultimately like the latest cordless drills I really did feel the time had come to ditch the petrol can and pull cord. It’s still early days but so far I cannot fault the cheer simplicity of the machine. It’s not the cheapest and perhaps slightly heavier than I anticipated but no regrets. The box it arrives in is enormous and the minor assembly is fairly straight forward. The instructions get you to charge up the battery which is really quick. The handle mechanism is proper versprung DT and you definitely feel it’s really been thought through. Maybe in time a UK company will make something competitive taking on what seems to be a market leader.

Best mower I have had
It’s really good mower the battery life is good I have a garden on a slope about 60 meters square. The battery was only down to 50%.The ease of cleaning very good as it stores on its end no oil or petroleum to leak out. Watch the YouTube video for a good demonstration.Sadly it’s not cheap but my last two mowers have rusted through on the deck this one has a plastic deck.

Good replacement for petrol lawnmower
I've had this mower about 4 months, though didn't get it through Amazon. I'm pleased with it. It replaced a petrol roller mower (Honda) which had served me well for 10 years or so. The Ego isn't cheap but it cuts well. I do miss the stripes from my previous roller mower. There is a roller attachment (available to purchase) for the Ego but we were advised not to get it as it makes manoeuvring the mower difficult. The mower is heavier than I expected, though not as heavy as the petrol mower I had, I'm glad it is self propelled. You can have the self propulsion on or off, and different speeds for on. The grass box is good size and collects well till pretty much full. The absence of rear roller means it's easy to dip one of the wheels into a flower bed when mowing lawn edge, which can scalp the lawn. The 5Ah battery easily cuts some 300 sq m lawn I have and could cut it twice on one charge if I don't use the self-propulsion too much. Overall a good replacement for my petrol mower.

First thoughts
Wasn’t sure about a cordless mower as I have only used petrol for years. Petrol kept packing up! I have two fairly large gardens to mow 1/3 acre in total and was wondering about battery life.It was really simple to set up charge and get going. Makes mowing effortless being self propelled and only used 2 bars off the battery for entire lawn. So far very pleased.Pros: Quick charging, easy to operate, less noise than petrol. Good variation with height adjustment.Cons: Slightly heavier than anticipated, grass box is a little awkward to get to with bars in position. Simple and quick to move though allowing easier access. Lowest cutting level could be a little lower…Overall best mower I’ve owned.

Great mower - worth going the extra cost
This is a battery mower for gardens larger than 300sq m. Upto say 1,ooo sq m. Based on one months experience with an intricately shaped lawn with 40 degree slopes, it is superb. The cut is very good and with a rear roller attachment (£60 and a doddle to attach) it leaves lovely classical stripes. It is supposed to mulch but I have not yet learned how to loosen the nut holding the standard blade in order to atttach the multching kit (£60).The mower was a doddle to assemble and took 3 minutes to learn how to use. charge battery, slot in place, plug in key, press. a green button on handle to get it to move without activating the mower blade. This is useful if you want to move the mower from a shed to a front garden. To get the blade to work press the start button while pulling back the bail bar. A great feature is the adjustable speed of the self propulsion: set low for fiddly bits of the lawn and high for zipping along lines. Can fold down to use very little storage space. I can get it to mow my 400sq m. lawn with about 20% Charge left. Great mower, well worth spending a bit extra.Niggles: Instruction book is tedious because it is designed for many languages; grass box fiddly to refit and getting the extended warranty is a chore because they want the number which needs a magnifying glass to read and they want a copy of the receipt and I had difficulty sending Amazons digital receipt.

Does a good job and powerful - love it being self propelled like a petrol mower
Arrrived next day - really fast delivery - have only used once but appears to be robust and well built - very fast compaed to other push-pull cordless mowers - that you can set the height and the ese with which you can store it makes it great purchase and well worth the price - our last mower a brand new model Bosch lasted less than a montt - died after being used twice - older bosch lasted 5 years. So I hioghyly recommend the EGO
