iPad tripod
Overall I really like this tripod. It is light and quite sturdy, although use over time will demonstrate how sturdy. The way it opens is at first a bit strange compared to the usual music stand type tripods. However, after the initial use seems natural.Mine is for use with a 9th generation 10.2 inch iPad and the fitting is very tight. I do not seem how it could fit any of the larger iPads without causing damage to the iPad or the tripod clamp. The spring mechanism is very strong requiring both hands to open making insertion of the iPad a little precarious. I normally use my ipad with an attachable key board case - the iPad part detaches from the keyboard - and I have to take the iPad out of the detached case to insert in the clamp. Other than that it is just what i needed.

Excellent product. Does exactly what I need
This stand holds my iPad, and can be raised to eye level height, for recording when I am standing. It is easy to put up and take down, light weight, and does exactly what I needed it to do.

Very sturdy and stable.
Other models I’ve had tended to sag, after just a few months.Because this one is a different design, it is holding the position of my iPad Pro 12.9” very well.It easily copes with the weight, even it is ver lightweight itself.Use the older ones I have, at home, but for rehearsals and gigs with brass bands and orchestras, I rely on this one, as it just gives you the confidence that it will stay exactly where you put it!It’s always in my car, ready and waiting )if I’m not using it!), but is so lightweight that you could carry it anywhere, collapsed into its own little bag - which is, also, good quality.Very, very happy with this and highly recommend it.

Poor quality
The tablet clamp came broken. So it was probably a previously returned item reintroduced into the selling cycle. I wanted to avoid the return hassle and found a way to stick the broken part. However, the tripod build is poor. When extended, it's slightly bent and leaning. But I suppose one can't expect better for the price.

Nice bit of kit but can't use rear camera on phone.
Substantial stand, reminds me of a music stand only it holds a tablet or phone.Doesn't have to be and iPad should be okay for any tab or phone. It's adjustable to many angles and heights so should get plenty of use, I think it would be nice in the corner of a room to display a small painting or one of those digital photo frames, there's something about the look that's rather decorative.Of course it would be great to use for filming of taking photos, very steady unless you fully extend.Doesn't have any smart capabilities, it's just a very versatile, well made, tripod.I tried it with my 10 inch fire tablet and it fitted nicely in landscape mode with room to spare so will fit a larger tablet. The holder can be turned to give portrait mode and holds very well.I then tried it with my 7 inch fire tablet. It fitted fine in both portrait and landscape mode. Then I tried it with my smartphone. Fitted in landscape mode but phone too small for portrait mode but as it's multi adjustable the phone or tablet can be turned around. Two drawbacks.Firstly when everything fully extended it isn't that stable so although it extends to over 60 cms, it's better slightly lower if you need stability. If you wish to film something from your mobile phone you would only be able to do it in selfie mode with the front camera as the phone holder has a solid back which covers the rear camera. That would be quite a big problem for me as I tend to take most photos and videos with my phone and would welcome a stand that I could use in this way.I'm being a bit mean giving three stars as it's a good value solid bit of kit but I personally would rather have one that I could use properly with my mobile phone,

12.9 iPad too heavy?
I've had this stand since last year and use it quite a bit. I find it's excellent for a phone and a standard tablet but I had a problem with my large iPad develop over time. While the stand held the screen in place well when it was positioned in portrait (you have to put the grab hands towards the bottom to balance that), I couldn't get it to stay in place at a straight angle when it was in landscape mode, such as when I'm watching a video on it face on.BUT when I unscrewed the swivel piece of kit and reattached it, it sorted it out completely! It's a great piece of kit for watching stuff as you can go hands free and position the height as you wish, while you get comfy in bed or your armchair.
