I Was So Mad (Little Critter) (Look-Look)

I loved reading these books to my children and now my grandson

Bought as a gift for adult daughter and given to her during a time she was having stress in her life making her smile

I bought many of these Critter books for my son 35 years ago and I am now buying them for my 5 year old grandson. He is not really interested in learning to read but loves this " Mad" book especially! After a couple of times reading this to him he is already recognizing some of the words.

I bought these Mercer Meyer books for my children and now share them with my grandchildren. I've never seen a child that didn't absolutely love these stories. Some children's books are too insipid for adults to enjoy but the Little Critter books are entertaining for adults as well as children.

We love ALL the Mercer Mayer books. and buy several to include as baby gifts. In addition to the great messages these quick-read books deliver, it's fun to have little ones discover where the little mouse or grasshopper is hiding on each page. This "Mad" one is so cute it has become a common byword with the adults in our family who will laugh and say, "I was SO mad!"

My daughters enjoyed these books when they were little, so I started my 2 year old grandson on them. He loves it just as much as they did.

Great read for kids

My kids really like the Little Critter books so I ordered a few that we hadn’t read yet, this book being one of them. I didn’t have a problem with it until I got to the end and the book shows little critter deciding to run away because he was so mad that he wasn’t getting to do any of the things he wanted to. And then instead of him learning that that’s not a good decision, he gets distracted by his friends and says he’ll just run away tomorrow. Not my favorite ending to a children’s book. I just talked to my kids about it not being a good decision and told them some better things to try when we’re mad.The book was in good condition when it arrived, though and got here before the estimated delivery date.

This is an amazing book for kids. It provides them language for their big emotions and validates their experience. People who are fearful that it is giving their children the idea of running away are misguided. It’s like saying if you talk about sex with your kid they will run out and have it. When little guys feel big emotions a lot of things happen like a flee/runaway response which is normal. This book opens up that conversation. When you feel mad do you every want to get away? Wow that must be scary. You can also change mad to frustrated sad hurt etc and how that feels. This book is useful in many ways but especially for giving little guys a visually validating for big emotions. What toddler or kid doesn’t have a melt down at some point and wouldn’t it be amazing to understand that it’s normal and know someone else felt that way as well as what is acceptable mad behavior and what isn’t (running away). We want to run away but we can’t so what can we do instead. Hugs

El libro llegó muy rápido y en perfecto estado, pero no me ha gustado nada el contenido. No es educativo ni enseña nada. Pensaba que era para enseñar sobre esta emoción y cómo gestionarla, pero para nada. El final del libro no tiene ningún sentido. Igualmente, he podido descambiarlo y me reembolsan el dinero.

Todos los cuentos de Mercy Mayer, me encantan!!
