Works much better than the cheaper rope cutter
I bought this to replace a cheaper rope knife that comes in several brands on Amazon. This one works much better than those. It has adjustable heat levels, and on the highest level becomes even red hot quickly. Effectively cuts and seals 5/8 inch nylon rope.

A great hot knife that cuts to the chase.
The media could not be loaded. It's true that as a thing gets more complicated, sometimes the most basic function suffers due to attention being diverted towards all of the new (and often superfluous) secondary functions.. That couldn't be further from the reality here as this hot knife does away with the uneccesary bells and whistles and doubles down on what matters - it's a ability to operate in a professional capacity, reliably and effectively. This knife is built like its meant to last forever with a heavy and balanced weight that feels great in the hand and a click trigger that feels quick and responsive. The heating element works wonders and heats up to full capacity in seconds, making the 15 second uptime a decent window to work with. Accompanying blades are well made and accomodate most applications (certain cloth, plastics, tops and fiberglass materials) even if the longer blade is a bit flimsier than I'd like... Build wise, this is among the best I've ever used and functionally, gives the other brands a run for their money. Uptime is standard but consistent and everything from changing blades to cleaning the ones used is simple and makes the tool pleasant to use. In other words, if you need a hot knife, this is one that will cut to the chase with aplomb.

Heats up fast, works great
Glad I purchased this rope and fabric hot knife. Works great, heats up super fast. Using to cut nylon webbing, and synthetic rope. Haven’t used it on synthetic fabric yet, but anticipate it would work nicely for this purpose as well.

Works Great!
Got this because I’m doing quite a bit of boat sewing and was really aggravated with fabrics unraveling and all the threads everywhere. I spent a lot of time on the SailRite site and although they offer hot knives, they are not cheap. This was a great value and so far has delivered as promised. I’ve not cut foam (but I can!) but for fabric, it’s been wonderful. You do need a proper cutting surface, at least for fabric. So, if fabric is your game, please make sure to order one also. For lines or foam, maybe not.
