The KELLY-SCREAMER is our own lead-trumpet mouthpiece design. The rim has a remarkably cushioned feel that still provides good slotting and great note accuracy. For comparison, the diameter is near a 13a4a with our KELLY-SCREAMER being a bit shallower. The throat is slightly tighter than a Shew-lead, and the parabolic backbore just under that of a 3E. But please - try one for yourself!

Higher trumpet notes with comfort
Can definitively play higher and move faster between slots. Lead trumpet players will enjoy the lightness and ease of playing on the chops. Play it everyday

So my daughter logged onto my Amazon account and ordered this. She uses it ALL the time. I'm going crazy. I makes me sad I was too cheap to shell out the cash for dance lessons...

Poor tone quality, good high notes, not much else.
I think the pros and cons to this mouthpiece are quite obvious, but after owning it for around a year, it’s more clear (pun intended) to me. While this mouthpiece makes high notes easier, there’s never going to be a magic solution to playing higher for longer. The hard truth is that practice will be the thing to make you better. Yes, this mouthpiece doesn’t get cold and makes high notes easier, but it comes with a SIGNIFICANT loss in tonal quality. While my tone has improved over practice on other mouthpieces, I sound a lot worse on this one. Note attacks are particularly airy unless you play very loud. Notes in the lower register (g and below) are nearly impossible to get a good attack and sustain. The only scenario I’d recommend this for is is you play 1st trumpet in Antarctica and you have only notes above the staff and have no other options. That being said, I don’t necessarily regret my purchase, it just leaves tone to be desired.
