Top Notch Product
I recently purchased the iSpring WSPARJ-BP automated spin-down filter - see after installation image. The item arrived in good condition with all parts securely packed. It came with a 50 micron filter which should be adequate, based on an initial two-week evaluation. I live in a rural area which is underlain by alternating beds of thin limestone and shale. Water for the house and property is drawn from a hillside spring box. So the problem was excessive silt and fine sands plugging the 4.5-inch by 20-inch string-bound Pentek water filter over a short period of time. The result was lower household water pressure and lower water faucet flow. Changing the Pentek filter element on a short schedule was both tedious and costly. I needed to improve the filter life of the Pentek filter. Over the last couple weeks I have tested the iSpring WSPARJ-BP automated spin-down filter and it seems to work properly. I left the automatic settings in their default mode. I have used the auto-push-button flush mode for testing. I am very happy with the unit. Many thanks to customer service at iSpring for their timely and professional help during installation of the unit. Pros: 1) Works as promised; 2) a cost effective solution; 3) a good value for the money, well built; 4) helpful, responsive and professional customer service; 5) fairly simple installation, no leaks encountered; 6) automated and scheduled operation is easily programmed via installation instructions; 7) batteries included for battery-only operation, 8) capable of 110v operation, power supply included, 9) extra parts are included to convert to a fully manual filter unit operation, if desired. Cons: 1) The screws included for mounting the filter to the wall are inferior grade phillips-head and are too “small-headed” for the mounting bracket holes, no washers are included; 2) screws for attaching the filter head to the mounting bracket are difficult to use (think tiny short screws, tightly threaded and of the “flathead-type” design); 3) the bypass handle is difficult to shift from one mode to another; 4) the filter wrench can be used to help shift the bypass handle mode-to-mode but this technique is only illustrated at the seller’s website and not in the .pdf online installation/user manual; 5) the plastic drain hose came permanently kinked in two places - see image (iSpring customer service replaced it immediately when notified of the issue); 6) the filter body and filter head were way too tightly joined upon receipt of the unit and it was difficult to separate the two without first mounting the entire unit and wrenching it apart; 7) no instructions are given regarding the filter housing rubber o-ring used to seal the unit - for example: a] do not over tighten the filter body and crush the rubber o-ring, hand tight plus 1/8 to1/4 turn is sufficient to prevent leaks and o-ring damage, b] always apply a thin layer of silicone grease on the rubber o-ring to help seal it, c] maintain the o-ring by cleaning and reapplication of silicone grease during assembly/reassembly of the filter unit, d] expected end-of-service life for the o-ring ?, e] where can I order a replacement o-ring ?; 8) the current .pdf installation/user instructions, Version 01/2023, available online, are incomplete and need revision. Suggestions to iSpring: 1) Replace all installation screws with hardened hex-head design for easier sturdier installation; 2) coil drain hose for packaging; 3) ship filter loosely fitted so customer can inspect the internals and disassemble it for easier mounting; 4) update Version 01/2023 online Installation & User Manual .pdf

Outstanding customer service! And the Cadillac of sediment filters (but I need a 50 micron filter)
TLDR, fantastic customer service and solid product. You won't regret purchasing this filter. I bought this item from an Amazon warehouse deal. I received the filter and found the automatic module that opens the ball valve at the bottom of the filter housing was defective. When installed, the module wasn't engaging the ball valve. I was able to get the original module to work by pulling out of the white shaft that engages the ball valve. But the gears inside ended up being overly noisy which didn't inspire confidence, and I was concerned about the warranty. I'm guessing this is why it was returned, as the filter assembly itself never had any water run through it. Side note: Shame on Amazon for reselling a product that had a known problem, you folks need to do better on these warehouse deals. So I called the customer service number in hopes to resolve the issue. A robot answers the call first, which immediately had me thinking I was going to wait a long time and be connected to someone on the other side of the globe or some AI bot. I was surprised and happy when a real life human picked up the phone after waiting less than a minute, AND that person was based in the USA. I connected with Nick at the customer service line. He listened to my concern and advised me NOT to return the unit to Amazon. Doing so would just cause the unit to be resold (again), and the next person would run into the same problem I was having. After a brief call Nick advised me to email him a description of the concern along with some pictures for documentation and proof that I was the purchaser. He emailed back and told me he was sending a new module. Amazing customer service right there! Most companies would not take the proactive stance, but Nick and ISpring absolutely care about their customers. He didn't want to leave me with a questionable part after buying a brand new filter. Top notch customer service and they've absolutely earned my future business. Now, as far as the filter goes, this is an extremely well built sediment filter. It's the Cadillac of sediment filters! I have previously installed one of the smaller sediment filters, which works well, but also clogs quickly. I wanted to try this unit to save me the hassle of having to walk out to the pump house and manually clean it twice a day. This filter is large, and that extra surface area means more filtering and less clogging. Along with the automatic module, it makes the sediment filter as maintenance free as it can be. My only regret was not going with a 50 or micron filter. The 200 does catch some, but for my application I think the 50 micron (or maybe the 100?) would have worked better, especially considering the much larger surface area and the automatic flush which can be programmed to flush frequently. But how are you to know before running and trying to see what level of filtration works best? Right now my next filter in line is a 5 micron, and that's picking up a lot of sediment that is passing through the 200. Two things I would design differently if it were me. One, make a filter wrench that goes over the black part at the bottom without having to remove the black piece or the auto module. Having to remove all of that to service the filter is bothersome. Two, put the power plug on the side of the auto module instead of the back so that you don't have to remove the module to remove the power cord. Fwiw, my work around is to loosely leave the filter wrench on the housing so I don't have to mess with taking off the stuff on the bottom. It doesn't look great, but I guess I won't misplace the wrench either. Thanks again, Nick, for all of your help! It was a true pleasure to speak with you and I greatly appreciate the level of customer service that you provided. Keep up the great work!

Awesome Pre-filter for water system. First line of defense against sentiment!
I purchased the 50 micron filter with control valves on the top for a well water system . I’ve already noticed sentiment collecting on the screens and it only been up and running about 2 weeks. I put this spin down filter 1st in line before a 20 inch sentiment 5 micron filter and a UV filter. I noticed a very slight drop in pressure but my water is now crystal clear and has no taste or smell. This is a very robust pre filter that self flushes with great velocity. I It seems to completely clear the screens. I had to put a ball valve in the filter flush line to slow the flushing water down or it overwhelms my floor drain. Still seems to clear the screens very well. I had no leaks and recommend two or three wraps of the heavy duty blue teflon tape. Installation was easy for this filter but found this filter and the whole filter don’t align in a straight line. The one suggestion for installing this filter is to attach it to a spacer board about 1/2 inch out from the wall if putting in line with the whole house filters as its outlet is closer to mounting wall than the whole house filters. I highly recommend this filter and ISpring Filters with excellent customer service with American Customer Service Representatives that know their product really well!

This filter works perfectly just as advertised and was easy to install. Ispring also has excellent customer service, I called ispring to ask about how to dismantle this filter to clean-out the screen and Nick helped me he provided excellent customer service answering all my questions and even offered to ship a spare screen to me (in Canada) at no extra charge.

Any house that has a well should use this. I installed a smaller version iSpring filters two years ago and saw instant improvements in the water flow throughout the house. It’s easy to figure out why by looking at what gets caught in the filter. But manual flushing was an issue for me. I often forgot to do it. I moved to this jumbo version with the auto-flush module. Boy, what a game-changer. It’s almost plug-and-forget. Good news, the flush module failed a few months after the initial installation. Why the good news? It got me to test after-sales service from iSpring. Nick answered the support line and got a replacement module shipped. Problem solved. It’s great to have a good product, and it’s even better when the company that sells it has our back.
