Is the date on the pack a best before date or a date of manufacture?

I believe it is a best before date as my new batch has 09 20 I would normally use this as September 2020 best before date.

Is this the same as the old heinz tomato frito that came in the jars and discontinued in the u.k. a few years ago?

Yes, In Spain I always buy this way only I found in jars in the UK but it’s the same sauce taste. I don’t know the reason they stop selling it long time ago.
