Barmah Hats Foldaway Bronco Leather Hat - Item 1060

My second Barmah hat. You ask me, there are none better. Needed a brown hat, but I just don't like most of the dark browns out there. Wasn't sure what Cognac would look like, but at least it was a different brown.The hat arrived today and all I can say is "Wow!" Absolutely love this color...I'd probably call it dignified. It won't go with too many other colors though,however, I got lucky and found boots and a belt in a closely similar color. I think it would look best worn with light colored apparel. The leather on this hat is thinner than my other Barmah, but I'm thinking that's because it's foldable. A benefit of thinner leather is lighter weight..and who cares about thinner anyway? It's a hat..the leather doesn't have to be as thick as a combat boot and Barmah's are built to last. To be honest, the thing I like best is the look. I don't care for that ten gallon American cowboy look. These have a simpler, functional, and rugged design. With it's swooping brim, I think these are more beautiful than most of those crazy brimmed American cowboy hats. Plus almost certainly more durable. Lastly, plenty of people will notice you and start up a conversation; that might be the very best benefit of all if you know what I mean! You will not be disappointed with a Barmah hat!

(I bougt this hat with my wife's account and am writing the rewiew in her account) I am a hat lover - have been since a kid - and this is an incredibly great hat. It has a rugged look. It has character! If I had the bucks, I'd buy all the colors. The store Barma USA also has fantastic customer service. I was being a gentleman to my wife when we were walking around one of the Minneapolis lakes because the sun was in her eyes. So I offered her the hat. Her head is smaller than mine. Of course a gush of wind came and the hat blew into the lake, which still had ice. The hat was underwater for about 5 minutes. I was serously considering whether to dive into ice cold water to rescue the hat. My wife found a long broken branch and we recued it. Needless to say the brim was pretty wilted after 5 minutes underwater. But interestingly the color stayed the same. Barma USA restored my hat to look almost like new! I told them my story they got a laugh out of it and restored the hat for free! Don't bother getting oil to protect the hat. Based on my experience you won't need it. But I stronly recommend buying the strap in case you get caught in a windy storm. The strap easily fits inside the crown so that you can keep the macho look! The black one is my favorite hat I've ever owned. I got both of them in 2X. Both of them are high quality, they'll likely last a long time.I got the rustic one first, it fit great, though I had hoped the sides of the brim bent upward, it really didn't have the right shape but I liked it anyway. Then I realized that I only have a couple outfits it went with, so I got the black one.I absolutely love the black one. It's shaped the right way, it has the correct bend upwards on the sides of the brim. The only problem was that it was larger than the rustic one, so I had to use the sizing kit on it, which worked fine.I highly recommend the black one. Due to its lack of shape, the rustic one is just ok. It's a little strange that they both fit differently and are made differently from each other. If I had just gotten the black one, this would have been a 5 star rating for sure.

Normally, I don't write reviews, but this time I was compelled to act otherwise. But, Wow !First of all I must say I am amazed at Amazon how during the Coronavirus times, they are actually able to deliver not only on time, but actually more than a week early. And I do live in Japan. Incredible. Thank you Amazon.Now to the hat. I love hats and have actually quite a few different ones. From baseball caps, to Stetson, Tillie's and in between. I am pretty critical by nature and there is usually something I find that could have been made better.But with this hat Barmah has gotten everything right! It fits like a glove. True to size. That's a fact! And looks, it blows everything else out of the water. Value!? No doubt. I thought when I first saw it online I'll give it a shot, because it was a little higher than others. When I received it, saw it, felt it, smelled it, tried it, I thought how can they do this, for that good of a price ? Especially considering, it is Made in America.I showed it to my wife and then put it on her hat to actually see how it would look like on someone else in person.She is very beautiful and with the hat she just looked spectacular.So, needless to say, I bought two more hats. One for her, in the same color like mine, which is a beautiful natural leather brown. And, another one for myself in another color, olive.There can only be one. ;-)

I absolutely love this hat. It is very well constructed and is really durable. I love the style of this hat and have received several compliments from friends and coworkers.

I can't add more praise than the others, so I will just reiterate what they say. Looks good. Nice material. True to size. Conveniently folds up into the carrying bag for travel. Attachment points for a chin strap. Well made, in the USA. Actually, my hat was made by Amy -- she signed one of the tags so you literally know who specifically made your hat, including their full name (which I omit here). Hat is comfortable out of the box, but fits and wears best after a few weeks "breaking it in." I clean and care for it using Lexol on the outside. I have not worn it in a heavy rain yet but I expect it to perform like a nice leather shoe or boot. I don't know if this is the best hat on Amazon, but it is nice and reasonably priced and true to size and made in the USA. So what's not to like?

Although there are cheaper versions available, there's no substitute for the quality of workmanship or material used. My last one lasted 10yrs with twice yearly clean and wax before some low life thieved it.

I have a real Australian leather hat I’m sure it’s the same company? This is built in the states pretty light weight I don’t hold much hope for it but it’s only a week old so we will see how the brim hold up when we start getting it wet

Bought for my boyfriend who loves it. Very good quality, I bought the XXL and it fit perfectly. Very happy with this Barmah Hat. Shipping was over a week delayed due to the global circumstances so keep that in mind if purchasing for a gift.

I'm now gonna look the part out in the bush in my ute, or sitting back round the campfire with a cold beer to enjoy while the fire I made cooks my beans.My wife says I need some cowboy boots, but this hat does enough. Fits great, looks good, and will keep the sun off my noggin and shoulders better than a baseball cap.
