My son's eight pound dachshund had another monkey for several years. Unfortunately it was destroyed by one of my dogs during the holidays. I immediately replaced it with this toy. Within thirty minutes of playing it lost an arm. My three year old 28 pound granddaughter was playing tug of war with it and the dog. A game they had frequently played with the old sock monkey. I was not happy. If you are looking for a sock monkey for a child or decoration it is very cute. Do not buy for a dog however.
