Good day. It is I, Borislav Nedelko — former accordion dreamer, current goat whisperer, and now, proud owner of twelve-holed wind magic flute. Yes. I speak of the ocarina. A word that sound like potion, but is actually instrument of destiny. When I see this ocarina online, I say, “It look like bird. I must have this.” It arrive in box, wrapped like treasure. I open it and immediately drop it because excitement. But it survive — strong! This is good omen. Who made this is good craftsman. Deserve award. I play for goat and one faint. This is truly magical instrument. And it look like bird who flew into sun!! Stupid bird. The ocarina has twelve holes. Twelve! More holes than I have fingers that know what they’re doing. I try to follow chart that come with it. Notes like A, B, C, D — simple, yes? No. Not simple. Hands do panic. Still, I persist. Each morning now, I climb small hill behind my house and play the ocarina while the sun rise and my goats out grazing. Sometimes the sound is beautiful, like lost wind whistling through fjord. Sometimes it is… aggressive. Like dying duck. But the passion? Always strong. Neighbors ask, “What is that sound?” I say, “That is spirit of mountains leaving my lungs.” They say, “Please stop.” I say, “Never.” ⸻ 🎵 PROS: • Very beautiful to hold. Look like bird. • Makes sound even if you don’t know what you’re doing • Goats respect me more (I think) • When I play near forest, birds answer. This is either good sign or warning. • Zelda energy: I feel like elf-child with purpose 🎵 CONS: • I still do not know how to hold it properly. I drop it sometimes when passion takes over. And I am a VERY passionate man. • No one wants to be around you. ⸻ Final rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five stars and one mysterious note that made goat fall in love with wheelbarrow. I may not be good at ocarina. I may not even be okay. But this ocarina is good to me. And that is all I need. Buy one. Blow wind into it. Confuse your goats. Maybe you become rock star.

Got this as presents for my daughter and niece. My daughter in particular is an amateur flautist, and loves this - and I like hearing it in the home.

The sub hole on this ocarina to play Low A is just past and below a ridge in the bird design. This makes it all but impossible to play the Low A. I have very large hands but covering the D hole and sub hole at the same time is all but impossible. Low A is the lowest note possible to play on a 12-hole tenor (alto) and most songs will not require it. However, I cannot accept this design oversight. I have returned the ocarina and will buy another from STL.
