Must have EDC Flashlight
By far the best light I’ve ever owned and this is my second one. After 11 months of nearly daily usage, the only issue I’ve had is the tailswitch has encountered a partial failure so I’m initiating the warrantee process to get it repaired and bought another so I don’t have any down time without one of these awesome EDC pocket lights. The lockout controls took a couple try’s to get the hang of but I haven’t got any issues and battery life can seem a little short if you run it full blast like I do regularly but once again, I have no issue with that and it suits my needs perfectly. Bottom line this light is awesome and for $90 bucks, well worth it. Are there other brands of EDC lights? Yes. How do they measure up to this Nitecore? I don’t know. This light left such an impression that I’m not going to bother with the others because I think they’ll fall short. Just my opinion based on my experience, nothing more nothing less.

ZERO Support!
Purchased an EDC27 back in October last year. Long story short, I forgot to lock the device and it turned on in my pocket melting my pocket to the lens of said device. I simply wanted to get a replacement lens for the EDC27 at my own expense. Despite my numerous phone calls and emails sent to corporate I was met with radio silence. Also very confusing, "Nitecore store" Dot com is not "Nitecore store" here on amazon. Apparently "Nitecore store" here on amazon is the corporate store and they are at Nitecore dot com. Nitecore Store dot com is "lumen Tactical" here on amazon. Confused yet? If you call nitecore store dot com they will just refer you to corporate as they "don't offer replacement parts." Corporate will then ghost you promptly. Basically if you ever have a problem with your new EDC 27, simply throw it in the trash as thats' your best and ONLY option.

The power of the sun, in the palm of your hand.
I work in private security and have been wanting a new light for a while now but never found one I was super happy with. Tried a few other brands and it was always something - battery, brightness, size, or the buttons. A friend pointed out the EDC and I decided to give it a shot. Right off the bat I was stoked for the light. The buttons are on the back, it has a momentary on (high and low, huge for working events), it saves what brightness you last had it at, it has 2 lockout modes (one allowing momentary high), and it has a solid rechargeable battery.Out of the box I did notice a weird issue, the 3000 lumen mode could only come on for 1-2 seconds before stepping down. I thought this was odd but assumed it was normal at first, maybe it was just meant for a quick momentary. After emailing Nitecore support I found out it actually wasn't supposed to do that! Here we are a day later and I have a replacement that keeps at 3k as long as I need it to.The oval shape will take some getting used to, but it does feel better in a pocket. The only thing I might change would be recessing the light some, as it is you need to keep it fully in front of you or you get some light on yourself because if has a pretty wide throw.

Nice light, electronic smart switches are meh…
Very bright light with excellent throw. The power display is very useful… The smart switch, which adjusts the modes and the lockout, leaves much to be desired… If the light is grabbed under duress, screwing around with a smart switch with “sweet” spots, is not easy…. The wrist strap is also sub-par. It should have a breakaway, in case the light gets caught on something… If it’s wrapped around the wrist, the lack of a release, can be a safety hazard..

Confusing and horrible customer service After care
About a month and a half after I purchased the flight, it malfunctioned and no longer work. The light no longer turn on, and the button was unresponsive. My problem was with the warranty or lack of. Amazon direct me to the channel for warranty information after I was unable to find that information for myself. I don’t know how many people I emailed what company I emailed or who I emailed I just cannot find the right person or department to take care of this matter. talk about the runaround but that’s exactly how I feel and what I encountered.A month later I just have some email direct me to sending it to China to an RMA number or address? I didn’t know it be this difficult I would never have got this paperweight. So my supposed to send it there and I’ll repair it and then get it back to me all the way from China again?I I think that’s a little bit too much activity just to get it warranty for this light. The ascurion policy I purchase was absolutely useless since six in after the company warranty ends and supposedly they have a lifetime warranty. But I am not going to bother sending it to China.Lesson learnedOther than that the light was decent, but the past tenseThanks Amazon, this company took care of my issue

Great light until the power button stops working
Update jun24: about a year since owning this light the power button no longer cycles brightness. What's the point of having features if you can't use them."I've used this light for a few months now. Out and about and also at work. The only issues I have had with this light is the power button stops functioning properly. Trying to cycle through light settings or cycle the lockout has become annoying. The detent you would feel for half press is non existent at this point. The high output (3000 lumens) button works fine. Other than that this light would be great. Nice size, decent weight, and having the screen is a plus letting me know the power status . If it wasn't for the power button issue this would be a great light for the price. This light would have been 4 or 5 stars if not for the annoyance of the power button issue."
