The best boy books!
My 10 year loves anything having to do with wars. He loves this entire series. Just enough pictures to keep his interest. Font size is perfect for upper elementary age. The writing style and explanation of sometimes difficult material is also perfect for upper elementary age.

An amazing series!
I am so impressed with the Battles for Boys series! I bought the Vietnam book for my ten year old grandson specifically because his late grandfather flew many missions as a pilot in VietNam. It is always beneficial for kids to read nonfiction, gaining knowledge while enjoying reading.

A Captivating and Informative Read for Boys (and Everyone!)
I recently purchased "Great Battles for Boys: The Vietnam War" as a gift for my son, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with its content and presentation. As an avid reader and history enthusiast myself, I found this book to be an excellent introduction to the Vietnam War, tailored specifically for boys. From the moment I picked up this book, I could tell that the author, Joe Giorello, truly understands his target audience. The writing style is engaging and accessible, making it easy for young readers to follow along. The book is filled with captivating stories, vivid descriptions, and plenty of exciting action to keep young minds engaged from beginning to end.One of the aspects I appreciated most about this book is its ability to strike a perfect balance between storytelling and educating. While it does an excellent job of highlighting the various battles fought during the Vietnam War, it also delves into the historical context, providing a deeper understanding of the conflict for readers. The inclusion of maps, photographs, and illustrations further enhances the learning experience and helps bring the war to life.Furthermore, "Great Battles for Boys: The Vietnam War" tackles the subject matter with sensitivity and respect. It doesn't shy away from discussing the hardships, sacrifices, and complexities of the war, while still maintaining age-appropriate content. The book encourages critical thinking by posing thought-provoking questions and offering different perspectives, allowing young readers to develop a well-rounded understanding of the conflict. The only reason I didn't give this book a full five stars is that at times, I felt it could have provided a bit more in-depth analysis. While it does an excellent job of introducing the key battles and major players involved, some readers, particularly older ones, might find themselves wanting more comprehensive information. However, I believe this is a minor drawback considering the intended audience. In conclusion, "Great Battles for Boys: The Vietnam War" is an outstanding book that successfully captures the attention and interest of young readers. Its engaging narrative, informative content, and respectful approach make it an ideal choice for boys who are curious about history, particularly the Vietnam War. I highly recommend this book to parents, teachers, and anyone seeking an accessible and educational read that will captivate young minds.

Nicely written
He's been asking for this set, it enhances a family tree project he's been very interested in. And after taking a peek I think I'd like to read them too.
