It’s MADE for the paint USE IT!
Hi, yes you do need this! When you buy any of the HIMI gouache sets you definitely need this spray. You can’t have one without the other. So remember to purchase this too. It helps keep your paint moisturized once you open your paints. You just spray it onto your paint. It’s that easy to apply. It has no color it.

Best Gouache Spray
Working with Gouache is very tricky. The gouache seems to dry quickly and needs something to keep it moist and workable. I love this spray because it is just enough moisture and keeps it wet for a long time.

Works Great For Keeping Watercolor Fresh Too
I ordered Himi Jelly Gouache but I started back into painting after decades away and watercolor was my first choice. I haven’t made my way to gouache yet. But I easily overheat so I have to have multiple fans running on me (and my watercolor palette) constantly and it was causing my watercolor to skin over. I decided to give this a try. Of course I could use a regular water bottle, but this was inexpensive, the correct size, and I know the base ingredients don’t vary much between watercolor and gouache so I decided to give it a try. It worked great! It isn’t going to fully reconstitute dried paint, but it extended the working time of my watercolor paints and kept the consistency constant and flowing without changing the color or sheen of the paint on the paper. I just lightly spritzed it on the watercolor paints on my palette and only noticed good things. The texture was light as air, it doesn’t have a distinct odor (and I have an extremely sensitive nose) and it didn’t seem greasy/grimy/heavy/viscose. It stretches through a lot of uses. I have had numerous painting sessions and the bottle isn’t even half gone. I took pictures and didn’t notice until editing that the cap was askew. That isn’t a defect, it just didn’t get pushed down all of the way apparently. The bottle seems well made and durable as I have dropped it too many times to count! I will come back and review how the product works with the Himi Jelly Gouache, the product it was formulated to work with, once I get a chance to explore their gouache and see how it works. The pictures in the product description seem to speak for themselves - I was wondering how those tubs of jelly were going to handle being open and this looks like a great solution!

It has a strong smell but works well
I think that this is probably just alcohol mixed with water, because it smells strongly of alcohol. Granted it does the job of keeping mold away, it does dry out my paint in my opinion. I use my gouache frequently and when I spray this, I have to work to mix the paint again or else it will not work correctly. You cannot just spray and go. The bottle itself is a good size, has no color or change the texture of the paint, and is decent. It’s a good value for money if you’re constantly fighting mold on your paint.

This spray does what's advertised
I'd glad MIYA made this product. I don't use my Himi gouache consistently, so I have a lot and I'm not willing to air it out to dry out. I bought the 200ml from another website twice before, and it has helped keep my gouache mold-free. This is my third bottle bought from here. It helps keep my gouache moisturized too. When I DO get to use my paints, it gets a little dry and hard to pick up, so I spray and it helps a lot. After a sketch painting, I spray the individual paint colors, spray in between broken up pieces of gouache and use an electric mixer to mix my gouache up. This is better than water, I swear. You run the risk of mold with water, and water dilutes paint. But this spray doesn't really have my gouache super runny like water does. Be wary that the spray smell can be strong for some. It's not for my friend, but it is for me. So of course, make sure you don't unknowingly exhale the spray particles, it can hurt or slightly agitate your nostrils. I highly recommend this product. Consider buying the 200ml, you might run through the 100ml quick.

Great for gouache!
This spray is magical! Not only does it moisturize the gouache, it also prevents mold from growing in your palette. Do make sure you use an airtight palette, and your paints will stay moist for weeks, even if you don't paint every single day. Just make sure you check on them from time to time and spray/mix as needed. Your paints will stay just as if they just came out of the tube if you take care of them and spray them every few weeks.

Misinformation about the size, 200ml was written on the page, volume 100ml, received 100ml, why confusing people about the size and volume. $43 for 100ml is too expensive
