CNCESS CESS-257 Black 4.4mm to Dual XLR Male Balanced Audio Headphone Adapter Cable

I can't judge audio quality (horrible tinnitus) but I got a cheap ifi DAC and use this to connect it to my main audio interface just fine. it does good work.

Although it may have been defect in particular cable I got, the problem is that the 4.4mm pentaconn jack didn't "click" into place like normally happens. on inspection against a working 4.4mm pentaconn jack, I note that the jack itself is on the CESS-257 is shorter than the reference jack. It turns out the black plastic handle on the jack extends over the plug by about 2-3mm, which prevents the jack from going into the phone plug all the way until the spring on the tip clicks. Although I could trim back the plastic, I shouldn't have to, so I decided to return it instead. The cable itself is well constructed and well built. But with no "click" on the Pentaconn jack, it is easy for it to become loose -- and when that happens, it injects hum and/or signal imbalance, the opposite reason for my use of a balanced audio connection in the first place.

Works perfectly. The stereo works.

I spent several hours on multiple evenings to find a 4,4mm balanced audio to 2x balanced XLR cable _wih_ ground connected from the 4,4mm jack to both XLR connectors. As well as correct connection of both wires of the balanced signal to each XLR connector. A lot of cables are horribly high priced with three figure dollars or euros and lack the ground connection and/or are instable / have too thin wires or simply only connect only one of the balanced wires of each channel with a ground connection. Or are just completely wrong. Delivery from Amazon US in Wisconsin took quite a while, I expect this to be a one time issue and doesn't affect the product. I'm happy to finally have the cable I wanted for my FiiO DAC. Whoever wants to connect a HiRes DAC with a 4,4mm receptacle (you always want to use the 4,4mm for connecting other equipment because of the ground connection) to some professional audio equipment or an advanced receiver like Yamaha RX A6A AV give this one a try. May be you want to add 2x balanced XLR extensions - but this is fine.

Designed for equipment with a 4.4mm balanced output, this cable offers excellent construction at a very reasonable price. XLR microphone cables are inexpensive so its short length of only 12"/30cm isn't a problem. Audio quality is similarly excellent although that's as much the nature of balanced vs. single-ended connections as any other factor. Tested with an iFi Zen DAC v2 and active (balanced) monitors.

Lo utilizo para conectar la salida balanceada de mi Ifi Zen Dac V2 a las entradas balaceadas de un Fosi ZA3 y funciona de maravilla. Buena construcción de los cables en general y un sonido limpio y claro . Por el precio y para la aplicación que comento lo recomiendo ampliamente.
