Very impressed with the quality of this Ankle Holster. Velcro straps are nice and thick allowing a firm retention band above and below the calf muscle. The additional webbing strap that fits around the upper band (just above the calf muscle) ensures that even if the Velcro should wear over time it will still have firm retention. For an Ankle holster point of view I cannot think how they could have made this even more low profile and still use quality materials. After testing with my Ruger LCP Max .380 it had a fairly snug fit into the universal elastic holster, but due to the small size of the LCP the snap-fit strap over the gun was essential in my view. I would have preferred a slightly tighter (Smaller width holster opening) for my LCP, but since the holster band is elastic I plan to just stitch over the band to narrow the opening and retain the firearm better. If you are using a larger firearm this is likely to fit fine without alteration. I tried the ankle holster by going for a run, and with the leg straps tight but still comfortable, the holster did not slip down my leg at all. This will prove itself to be a very good holster to hold my back-up firearm.

I have only been using the holster for about a week, but so far I really like it. I carry a S&W 9mm Shield with an extra magazine and both fit well in their respective pockets. The holster is very comfortable and I have used it every day since it arrived. I tried an in the waist band holster previously, but found that I did not carry my pistol because of the type of clothing I wear. I like to tuck in my shirt, so the waist band holster didn't work for me. I usually wear tactical pants which are loose around my ankles, but I also occasionally wear dress pants. I am able to use the holster with both types of pants with no problem. I also like the way you can fold the holster after you take it off with the gun and magazine still in it. I place it on my night stand next to my bed at night. The only concern I have is the stitching where the top strap attaches to the bottom strap. The stitching on mine appears a little loose and my concern is that over time it may break from repeated use, but so far this has not been a problem. I also like the fact that this holster has a small tab where the barrel of the gun sticks out. This helps keep the metal from rubbing against your ankle. Other similar products that I looked at did not have this feature. In addition, I like the snaps the hold the pistol and magazine. Similar products use Velcro in this area. The Velcro used to hold the top and bottom straps to your leg work very well and allow me to adjust the holster for the best fit. I definitely recommend this holster. It is only a few dollars more than others that I have seen and in my opinion it is well worth the extra money. Update 5/7/2018 After wearing this holster on a daily basis for several months, I am sorry to say that it has not lived up to my initial expectations. I still really like the design, but the velcro fasteners no long hold, which makes the holster unusable. Apparently LPV is aware of this problem, because after I had the original holster for about a month, a new one showed up in my mail box (at no charge) with about twice as much of the same type of velcro as the one that I originally purchased. I was hoping this would fix the problem, but it did not. After several weeks of using the replacement holster on a daily basis, the velcro on it also failed. I think a more aggressive type of velcro is needed. At this point I am not able to use the holster. I hope LPV can make improvements to this product that will make it more reliable and longer lasting because I really like the overall design and this is my preferred type of holster . Update 9/15/2018 Due to the weak velco, I did not use my holster for about two months after my last update, but one day I came across two velcro cinch straps that were long enough to fit around my ankle and my leg just below the knee. I used this arrangement for several weeks and it worked reasonably well, but it was not ideal, because the ankle strap had to go around the outside of the pistol and sometimes it would side off. The strap near my knee worked well and remained secure. My next thought was to purchase some velcro that was more aggressive and sew it on over the existing velcro. I found some sew on type velco at Walmart and a friend, with a heavy duty sewing machine, agreed to sew it on for me. Before I had a change to give my friend the velcro, FPV sent me an updated version with heavy duty velcro sewn on in the same place that I had planned to have it sewn. What they did was sew on only the loop side of the vecro (fuzzy side) and use the same hooks (rough side) as the original. I have been wearing the new design for about two weeks now and it is performing well. The only recommendation I would make is to increase the length of the new velcro piece on the upper part near the knee by 1 to 2 inches because the hooks extend past the new velcro and only grips to a short section of the new loops. The velcro at the ankle is long enough. The holster that was sent to me appears to be one of the original holsters with the short velcro hooks that was modified by adding a piece of of velcro with more aggressive loops (fuzzy side). The design previous to his one had about twice as much velcro (hook side). I think it would be better if they used a longer section of hooks along with the new more aggressive loops. I think the holster that I how have is likely to last much longer with the modification that was made. I am please to see that FPV has listened to customer feedback and has made changes to improve their product. This is still the type of holster I prefer to use and with these improvements, I plan to wear it on a daily basis.

It would probably be perfect for regular sized people! With that being said I am unfortunately 5”1’ and 130lbs this holster goes from directly under my knee to my ankle. So I can’t really wear boots with it which sucks bc that’s what I bought it for, unless I rig it to be on my thigh and upper calf. So I wish there was less length between the retention band and the holster. Despite my short comings it’s overall a pretty sturdy holster and actually fits around my calf nicely as it’s very adjustable. Very light not abrasive or uncomfortable unless I bend my knee (due to it having to be so close to my knee) Another thing I’m wishing for is another snap on the elastic or on the holster itself to better secure smaller guns as there is a little bit of a gap with my bodyguard 2.0. but otherwise the gun is pretty stable.

First off I will say that it takes a little getting used to. I have always carried IWB so trying this was iffy. My main reason for trying this out was because I ride motorcycles and an ankle holster seemed more practical and easier. In the waistband holsters aren't too comfortable when riding because let's be real, the position of sitting on the bike makes your pants tighter all around. When it arrived I immediately put it on and tried it at different tightness versions and positions. I wore it around for about 3 days throughout the week (no handgun attached) to get used to it and surprisingly it is comfortable. The first time I wore it on my bike I snapped a couple of pictures for ya (refer to review photos) for a better visual. On that day I did wear athletic slim pants which are a bit tapered but stretchy, in case someone is wondering. I typically wear bootcut or straight jeans on bikes. Anywho, I put about 250 miles on the bike that day and I honestly forgot I had it on. The first time I used this for it's cause I had a Taurus 709 slim (single stack 9mm). The smallest handgun I own but just to get a feel for it. The second time I went with a PSA dagger (Glock 19 clone) and it did just as good. I DID NOT LOAD AN ADDITIONAL MAGAZINE IN THE POUCH PROVIDED. I felt that the weight would be too much for my comfort but I have not tried it nor do I plan to. It seems like it will be reliable and stable. The straps are adjustable and on one occasion I worked out legs at the gym the morning of. I say that because I emphasized my calves' workouts to get a bigger pump and then used the holster about an hour after. For this reason I adjusted the holster slightly higher than normal, over the calves, and it worked just fine. If the material loosens in the future, I did read on a review that someone sewed on a buckle as a backup which I thought was a great idea. Overall, the holster is stable enough for a casual wear and concealment, very affordable and made well for somewhat of a one size fits all, and if there is one thing I would recommend I would say: wear it around for a couple of days to get used to it before loading it up with a pew pew.

I tried different sizes and they all fit into the holster. The product is well made and I personally find it comfortable to wear all day. If I had to make a critique is that the straps could be secured a little better (the loose part after you tighten it). Not a major issue because the holster keeps everything snug regardless.
