Super duper light, feels sturdy. The plastic bit at the end of the handle helps keep it comfortable on my palm when digging. Small company and the product is great. Came with a little note from the man himself thanking me for purchasing his product. Smart looking design too. Great cottage product. I'll likely buy a couple of them and just leave them iny various packs so I don't forget it when I'm out on trial😅. Definitely will purchase again.

This product is impressive. I am an avid backpacker and was looking to replace my plastic trowel that, while cheap and light weight, did not work very well at penetrating the ground. I ordered this trowel for an upcoming PCT hike, and I was immediately impressed. The trowel is INCREDIBLY light weight and compact. It penetrates better than my plastic trowel and, though it does not seem quite as durable, it is plenty durable enough. I tried bending the metal and smacked it a few times against asphalt to find no bends or dents. I LOVE this trowel! DO NOT OVER SPEND ON A TROWEL AT REI, THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY CHEAPER PRODUCT YOU WANT TO BUY FROM THIS RETAILER.

OKAY, to the handful of negative reviews... Its small (7", ideal cathole depth), flimsy like, non existent weight. All which make it seem cheap and overpriced. BUT that is the incredible thing about this. It was truly engineered to be featherlight yet incredibly effective. Doesnt hurt your hand, the small serrations cut through small roots, and it really digs a a great hole. If you backpack any distance, you know! I tested in my drought suffering lawn. It cut through the baked, packed turf, made its way through the roots, dug out a few small rocks, and like some trowels actually scooped the dirt from the bottom of the hole. What more do you want?

Seems an excellent tool; well designed and nicely finished; feather-light. The little plastic pad on the heel of the tool is a very nice feature; eliminates a sharp metal edge. So much better than digging a hole with a stick! Glad to support an American made tool.

This trowel is legit! It lived up to all the hype for me. SUPER lightweight. Can barely feel it when you’re holding it lol. I’ve used the trowel about 4 times now in the Pisgah NF in NC. Rooty, Rocky, loamy, tough ground is all you’ll find here. This bad boy tears thru it with ease. The trowel comes with instructions on proper use. If you use it properly, it does a fantastic job. Incredible design. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Strong metal for a solid dig, very lightweight and made in USA by a small business:) This trowel doesn’t dig into your hand due to the plastic piece at the top. Makes digging a hole fun again:)

This is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't like the style of some of the other spade style lightweight shovels so gave this a try. Super smart design that should handle it's purpose well while shaving ouces off my pack. The plastic palm guard and shape makes handling easy, and comfortable. I would recommend this for other backpackers.

I didn't think I needed a lightweight shovel....until I found this one! I used to carry a large, slightly heavy, bright orange plastic shovel for digging catholes. But it was bulky and heavy and so I gave up. Once I decided that I wanted to start to carry a lightweight one again, I looked at other titanium options that were cheaper...but the reviews weren't great and none were made in the USA. So, when I found this one, with the plastic top on the handle (to protect your hands when digging) that was made in America from a small business, I knew it was worth the couple of extra dollars to support a small business. Fast shipping and the thing is so light you barely know it's in your hand, let alone in your pack. Should be durable enough for the long haul, provided you don't abuse it. Highly recommended!

Overengineered, light as a feather, and more than does the job. The plastic tab prevents the metal from digging into your skin while you use the tool. Great trowel!
