Is there leather in the ash slide strap?

Yes there is, where you see the brown in the picture, next to the clips, is leather.

Are the anchors strong enough for a guitar? Strat or Les Paul?

That's a little bit outside the box lol. These are designed for camera equipment, tripods etc. I use mine on a full frame camera which is at least a couple of Kilos and a tripod thats probably 3kg. However they are rated up to 200lbs or 90kg so are pretty strong. Based on that I would have said they would manage these and are really easy to attach and detach from any strap. The slide strap they can attach to is also pretty strong and adjustable so you can have it able to slide on your shoulder or be grippy so it doesn't move. Hope that helps.
