BLUEAIR Air Purifier for Rooms up to 103 m²| Blue Pure 3450i Max (311i+ MAX)– Smart, Quiet, HEPASilent Technology, Removes Allergens, Pet Dander, Smoke, Dust and Mold

I am reviewing the BlueAir 211i Max and 411i Max series in this review as I bought both - one for living room and one for bedroom. Bottom line, these are very impressive units and for the price I am impressed and pleased with each for functionality and effectiveness. Pros for the BlueAir series. very very quiet. On auto maintenance mode - you can't hear the thing. These are smart machines. You can monitor every aspect of your air quality through the app. You can adjust the control lights from off to bright. It tracks months of air quality data for the room it is in by month, week, day. You can adjust from sleep mode, auto, and 3 fan speeds using the app remotely. It tells you how much filter life is left. It tells you the outside air quality and compares to your inside. Example of its effectiveness; I was sautéing some Italian sausage and onions, the unit detected the particles and immediately went into high mode for about 5 minutes until all the odor was eliminated and then went back to silent. The front LED bar changes from Blue to Green, orange and red depending on the air quality while at the same time adjusting the fan speed to address the corresponding level of air quality indicated. Same thing happened when smoking some meat on the back patio. I left the door open to bring in the food, the unit detected the smoke and the front LED went red. After closing the door, it ran on high mode until the LED indicators began to regress back to blue and the fan speed decreasing accordingly until all the smoke odor was eliminated from the room. Cons for the BlueAir product. It is a bit pricier than other options - but for all the differences - so far, I feel the Blue Air product is definitely worth the price difference, for me at least. What I have not addressed: the longivity of the products; the life of the filter; ease of maintaining; Both of my purchases are within the first month;

Mon épouse et moi sommes des fumeurs. C’est un excellent purificateur d’air. Un des rares qui filtre jusqu’à 0.1 micron. Probablement l’un des meilleurs sur le marché pour les grandes pièces. Sa configuration qui aspire l’air tout le tour et la redirige vers le haut est selon moi la meilleure et la plus efficace. Il est très simple à utiliser et son contrôle à distance par cellulaire est simple et merveilleux. Autre avantage, il ne fait que filtrer naturellement, il ne possède aucun gadget de purification électronique douteux et dangereux pour la santé comme certains à l’ozone ou autres, exemple. Raison du 4 étoiles plutôt que 5 : Son préfiltre devient taché jaune de saleté assez rapidement et ce n’est ni chic ni jolie à regarder … Et il semble impossible de le laver pour qu’il redevienne sans taches. Et il est extrêmement long à sécher quand on le lave. Donc, à tous les 2 mois, je dois débourser 42$can+taxes pour acheter un nouveau préfiltre. Et à tous les 4 mois je dois aussi débourser un autre 60$can+taxes pour le filtre principal. Donc, cet appareil a un cout d’opération de 432$can+taxes/an. Donc, un total d’environ 500$can/an ! C’est plus cher que prévus dans leurs publicités, qui disait qu’il fallait changer seulement le filtre principal au 6 à 9 mois et de simplement nettoyer le préfiltre de temps en temps. Selon leur publicité, je prévoyais un cout d’opération total maximum de 155$can/an. La réalité est de 3.2X plus. (500$can/an) Parce qu’entre autres, je prévoyais de remplacer le préfiltre seulement une fois /an et je prévoyais payer environs 14$can comme pour leurs autres modèles Blueair. Par contre pour être honnête, sans la fumée de tabac, je crois que leur publicité est correcte. Aussi, quand j’ai vu que le filtre principal était vraiment dû, l’application cellulaire me disait qu’il restait 53% de vie à mon filtre. C’était certainement faux. Donc, pas trop fiable cette fonction de pourcentage restant. En résumé : Un excellent appareil ! Mais, si vous fumez, il serait peut-être bon de regarder vers d’autres modèles ou marques qui ont des coûts d’opération moins élevés. Ou qui sont conçu pour la fumée et les fumeurs.

Worth the investment. Winters previously were torture for me and the furry pets every time we moved you could literally see our electric shocks. Since purchasing the Blueair 2-in-1 Pro Air Purifier &, Humidifier I haven't seen a single electric shock and my dog appears to have some relief from his senior aches getting up as well. The control options are easy to use, the setup was simple, just take it out of the box, plug it in, put some water right in the top, and press power! Great for the technically challenged like me, I have it in the middle of the living area and it fits perfectly, aesthetically pleasing. It's durable and increases my humidity quickly (in a huge open space, which is normally difficult to do) I hope to purchase a second one next year I have not cleaned the filter yet, but I did easily open the front panel to see how to access. This unit is a dream!

This air purifier has completely exceeded my expectations. It is extremely quiet on every setting and you can see in my video how smoothly it runs. The auto mode is the best feature by far. It is so sensitive that it will kick on from across the house if I spray hairspray in my bathroom about twenty feet away. I love knowing it is constantly monitoring the air and adjusting on its own. The design looks clean and modern, it covers a large space easily, and the setup took just a minute. I have noticed that the air feels fresher and the room does not get stuffy at all anymore. It works so well that I am planning to buy another one.

Another review from 𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝙐𝙋𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙀 #3 (6 months later) Alrighty....two big things to mention: a) I originally was thrilled with this air purifier because of its ability to cleanse the air in our bedroom to a similar degree and at a much lower price point to what our our previous, bedroom-sized IQair was doing. As a severe asthmatic with lots of stupid triggers, purified air where I sleep has always been important to prevent asthma attacks. Although the app showed that the original filter still had something like 40% life left in it, I was starting to get a little "wheezy" in the bedroom so ordered a replacement filter from the Blue Air store here on Amazon. (IMPORTANT: I originally ordered the air filter for the BlueAir 311i Max. I missed the important + sign which is for the *taller* version of the machine, the 311i+ Max. So I received a shorter filter and had to reorder and get the proper-sized filter) Anyway, the new filter came and I installed and thought my breathing would get better. Maybe it improved a bit but there was NOWHERE near the night-and-day difference that I experienced after we got this new many months ago, aired it out and then put this in our bedroom (after vacuuming and fresh sheets etc). I have been wondering what has been going on for a while now. Until I came across some online reviews about Blueair replacement filters and then searched on Amazon for the 1 and 2 star reviews on the USA site.... 🛑To be brief, there are not many pictures on the Canadian Amazon site but if you check the US site, you will see a lot of people have posted comparison photos of the filter that came with their new BlueAir air purfier versus the replacement BlueAir filters they have purchased recently. ⚠️The replacement filters being sold by BlueAir are thinner. ⚠️⚠️They have less pleating (in other words, less surface area for particles to get trapped in) and the carbon filter is more "see through"/less dense. ⚠️⚠️⚠️It seems the company inserts great quality filters in their *brand new* air purifiers to impress their customers and give them great impressions (it worked on me) but then cut corners and costs on less effective, replacement filters. By the way - this wasn't just a feeling I had or some trick my brain was playing on me after I read or saw something....my lungs had started reacting differently to the air and telling me something was up long before. b) ❌ 𝙄𝙈𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏𝘼𝙉𝙏. Something that my young nephew experienced revealed a hazard about the power supply (boxy plug that plugs into a wall outlet or socket). Where we live, it's smoky 6 months out of the year due to the wildfires. He was visiting so we brought the BlueAir out of the bedroom downstairs to the rec room while he was playing there. He wanted to be a big boy and move it himself so I said sure. I helped him take the purifier off the end table and then told him to make sure he had a firm hold of the edges of the power supply before starting to unplug it. He went "ouch" before barely touching it. I thought he got a shock and called my wife. He then told me it was hot. I touched the sides of the power supply and they were fine but when I touched the surface where my palm rested on the power supply, it was more than warm...it was hot. I spent the next couple of hours doing some troubleshooting (plugging the BlueAir into other outlets, plugging it into an uninterruptible power supply, going over to our neighbours and trying there etc...). The power supply would keep heating up no matter what it was plugged into. THEN, I realized I was doing all of this testing while the fan was on the highest level 100%. So I turned it down to 4 out of 5 or 80% on the app. 10 minutes, the power supply wasn't as hot. I turned it down to 3 out of 5. 10 minutes later, the power supply was no longer hot at all. So I reached out to BlueAir and told them about the issue. They said they had not heard about it but offered to exchange our unit and send me a replacement. I thought perfect...the problem was fixed. Nope. New unit, still the same problem. When your BlueAir 311+Max is on high, the surface of the power supply facing out from the wall outlet gets very warm to hot, depending on how sensitive your skin is. Be careful, especially if you have children ~~ 𝙐𝙋𝘿𝘼𝙏𝙀 #2: (2 months after first update) I knew it was too good to last. We used this Blue Pure 311i+ Max Air Purifier for quite a while before I wrote my original review. I gave it 5 stars (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) because it had performed so well and had not faltered in any way and I could not see any problems arising. Ooops. The power button has now become quite unresponsive and the lights that show you the fan speed you are on do not work except for Level 2. (No idea why only that one.) The only real way to operate the unit is by using the app on our phone which is both a blessing and an annoyance. We are a couple who turn our cell phones off at night and leave them on our desk chargers. We have an old fashioned land-line in our bedroom that friends and family know to call for emergencies. Anyway, forgetting to adjust the fan speed while one of our phones is on is certainly a "first-world problem". However, considering this air purifier is literally "just" a control board, fan, motor and plastic housing sitting on top of a large, round filter that sits in the equivalent of a planter saucer all wrapped in a "pre-filter", I honestly thought that since the control board is one of the 3 essential parts of this device, they would have built it like a tank if they were trying to sell this air purifier at prices north of $700. I will reach out to the company and see how they respond and update this review further so you stay as informed as we are. In the meantime, take good care. ✅Customer Service update: So the representative from BlueAir was polite and helpful and guided me through a few steps to reset the unit. So far, all the buttons are working but I am a tad worried what the future holds. I will keep everyone updated if further problems unfold. I told him he must have the wrong model but in a nutshell, over the past 3 out of 4 weeks, this model has been listed for sale as high as $739.58 CAD here on Amazon.ca. My original review further below is based on my purchase price last Fall of $293 CAD. This was a fantastic unit for the $300 price point. However, there are better air purifiers in the $600 and $700 price range. ~~~~~~~~~~~ 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 This is a review of the....**Blue Pure 311i+ Max Air Purifier** 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗩𝗘. 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. INTRO: I have had asthma since I was a baby. The family "joke" is that I came out of the womb wheezing instead of crying and the worry from the doctors is what gave my mom grey hair in her early 30s. Anyway, asthma inhalers and air purifiers have been a part of my life forever. We currently have a European company's hospital-grade model in our living room and previously had its little bedroom version in our bedroom but that model died prematurely. The European IQ company has a North American office but it's head office is in California. Any warranty work has to be shipped to California at the owner's expense. Shipping costs were more than the model was worth so that is why we went looking for new options. When we saw the other reviews for this model, I researched it even further. Seeing other positive reviews elsewhere, I decided to take the plunge, purchase it here on Amazon and let my lungs decide for me. (It's easy to tell whether or not an air purifier is working well or not -- I will either start having asthma episodes again or full blown attacks or I will remain relatively stable and my sinuses will stay their see-saw selves.) When this Blue Pure 311i+ Max arrived, we unpacked it and let it run in our basement to "air out" and do any off-gassing it may have needed to do. After a few days, we put it in our bedroom and put it on high while my wife vacuumed in there. (That probably sounds sexist but I cannot be around a vacuum - gives me major asthma flare ups. That is why I do the laundry.) We downloaded the app (first time we have ever used an app on a minor appliance like this) and played around a bit. We found that a 65% fan speed is the perfect speed for the Blue Pure 311i+ Max to give us some gentle, pseudo white noise in the background while surprisingly still giving the air purifier enough speed/power to recirculate a surprising amount of air. (You can set the fan to various fan speeds in the app on your phone. If you don't want to use your phone, you have 5 or so options to choose from on the unit itself.) To the important points: ~~~~~~~~ PROS: 1. Does a surprisingly good job at cleaning our air. The proof is in my lungs and from my pharmacy; fewer asthma issues and fewer inhaler refills for the two inhalers that I need to keep in my bedroom. The performance of this Blue Pure 311i+ Max is currently on par with the original performance of the bedroom-sized iQAir that we had before its motor blew. 2. As mentioned earlier, because of my asthma I cannot be anywhere near a vacuum (which is why I do laundry) so my wife vacuums the pre-filter weekly (which is just a thin fabric lining on the outside of the Blue Pure 311i+ Max ), and we are due for another HEPA filter replacement to keep my asthma in check, but at this rate, the original cost of the Blue Pure 311i+ Max (and replacing the HEPA filters more regularly than what is needed by most people) is still a far better value than the other air purifier brand we were using in the bedroom. 3. Not a huge positive but rather just a preference: this model appears to suck air in from all around its lower 360° body. There are many manufacturers that do this but this model then shoots the clean air out in various directions from the top. Some goes straight up, a little to the back, a little to the left, a lot more to the right etc. I am not sure if this is on purpose or not but this "randomness" helps to prevent drafts or "breezes" from forming in a small room like a bedroom if you don't want them (i.e. Think about the draft that is created by a fan in a small room. Even if the fan is stationary and isn't aimed at you, you eventually feel the moving air. If it's Winter and already cool in the bedroom, you'll understand.) CONS: 1. None. No cons (so far). It is EXTREMELY rare for me (or a family member) to like something 100% but it is a first for me and my better-half to both have nothing negative to say about something. We have had this Blue Pure 311i+ Max since last year and it has exceeded our expectations in every way. It moves tons of air if needed / it purifies the air very well / the air quality monitor seems to work well and matches the European IQ company's air quality measurements pretty closely / it can be absolutely quiet if needed but still clean the air / replacement HEPA filters are very reasonable priced / maintenance is simple.... I will immediately edit this review if there is anything that happens to this Blue Pure 311i+ Max. I kind of hope I have something negative to say or the app fails because I REALLY don't like giving 5 stars and not having anything negative to say. :( But so far, this Blue Air product is delivering on all fronts.
