The Best Take-Apart Ever!
Too bad it's no longer available. High quality machined parts and great for my child to learn building. Why do all the good quality things go bye-bye?

Canabalize.
If you happen to get this at a discount, it's great. This thing is so big for the price it have to admit this has huge value. Almost cut myself getting it out of the plastic. It's easy to take apart and put together. The main body is the key component. This felt so heavy with the included battery in a clear plastic enclosure. Tires felt real nice. Even the steering part feels good. The only strange thing is the batteries for the remote aren't included but that's a non-issue really. These probably make awesome gifts.

Great toy but would have been better with working batteries

Bought 4!
These kept our boys busy all afternoon. They enjoyed building their cars and spent the afternoon switching out pieces.

An OK Toy
I love batatt toys. Great price It was esay to put together and the size as decribed. Lovely colour and sound effects. it gives my 4yrs old child who likes vehicle and taking things apart a 2 in 1 gift . Howerver i wish it had extra screws and tyres. The tyre did not fit firmly on the rim, they come off after a few race and the screws in the wheels get loose even if i am the one that secure them. Currently 4 of the screws are missing and 3 tyres, i have given up on looking for them. My sounds stills play with it.

This is sooooo cool!! Zoom Zoom!
I am not sure who is going to be more excited about this red race car….me or my almost 5 year old grandson. He is newly enamored with Lightning McQueen and this race car is going to be so exciting for him. This is packaged so well so there will be no damage in shipping, that I cant get it out of the clear molded plastic surround without damaging the box. Since this is going to be a gift I will have to just tell you about what I see. Shiny red heavy duty plastic car that when I squeeze it, doesnt budge and inch. Two hoods to switch out. Four silver rims to switch out on the tires, a yellow plastic kid size screwdriver for the ‘crew’ member to be able to do their job as part of the pit crew. Stickers for the car, press a button inside the car and you get the engine noise. I HAD to go to the company website to check out the stats and the video on this car. I’m impressed! You can take off the spoiler, the wheels, the underside of the chassis. The doors open and close. You can see the shape of all the ‘stuff’ that’s on the underside of a car. The hood opens up. Lights. This takes 2 AA batteries and you better get some extras while you are at it. Seriously, I am a grandma that knows pretty much nothing about cars. Check this out and see if you aren’t excited too. This is every little boys dream car. I would purchase this again in a heartbeat, and you know what else? Guess who the favorite Grandma is!

Fun
It's taken me a while to review this car because the remote needs AAA batteries; it doesn't come with them, and I didn't have any on hand. It does come with the changeable 4 AAs that are already in the car. The car has two tops. You can't add anything to the red top as far as I can tell, but you can add different tails and front pieces to the blue top. In order to change the top, you have to open the cockpit by unscrewing the screw in back of it that holds it on. I had trouble getting that screw to come out. I had to turn it sideways and tap it while holding the screw driver to it to get it to fall out. Inside the cockpit there's a little black piece that has a helmeted guy with arms all connected. You take that out and can then access the little screw that holds the top of the car on. You also have to unscrew a screw in the back of the car. The little screwdriver is easy to use. I wondered if you could put your own guys in the cockpit. You could, but they'd have to be very small. The space is rather small and flat. I put a picture on here of the car base without anything on top. The switch to turn on the car is on the bottom. There isn't an "on/off" switch on the remote. It comes on when you use any of the controls. Then when the car is turned off, after about a minute the blinking red light on the remote goes out. The left knob on the remote makes the car go forward and back. The one on the right makes the wheels turn right or left. The button in the middle makes the car go vroom vroom (a little quietly) for a second. It took me a bit to figure out how to make the car go where I wanted it to. It doesn't have a great turn radius, so I had to do a lot of backing up while turning the car around. When the car runs into a wall, you have to back it up before you can turn it. There are lights under the car that change from yellow, to green, to red sometimes. I haven't completely figured out what makes it change colors. The car can get going pretty fast both forwards and backwards. If I had a bigger room I'd try to make it go in circles. There was no damage when I crashed it into walls and chairs. This car does not work well on my medium-pile carpet. It doesn't go fast and sometimes it doesn't go at all on carpet. It works great on the tile. I'm sure it would be great on any smooth surface. My grandchildren will enjoy this when they come over.
