Plecoceramics Pleco Cave Kit Natural 6 pcs Size S

Solid and well made, I plan to use it in my saltwater tank under the rockscape to allow for additional hiding places for inverts. I'm hoping that they hold up and don't leach anything into the water. Everything that I've read indicates that these are inert and should be okay to place in freshwater or saltwater.

Plecoceramics is a very high-quality aquarium ceramic company. I have a number of their small pleco caves I use and they are excellent. This product is also the high quality we have come to expect from plecoceramics. My young moba frontosa really love it. They immediately started using it. They congregate around the outside and use the inside to get away from the current in the tank. I highly recommend this product.

These ceramic hides for fish are pretty good. They arrive in a cardboard box with each log being in their own smaller box and then each wrapped individually in bubble wrap. To put it plainly, they look fantastic!They are weighty and need to be rinsed off after taking them out of the packaging but they are nice hides.However, I didn't know that these are closed off caves. They are only open on one end and they don't state this in the listing which is why I am giving them 3 stars. Because of only one end open, it limits the tanks of ours that I can safely use them in.If you have snails they might get lost inside of them (this actually happened with small snails where they never came out for a week before I had to get them out with a different cave like this with only 1 opening). If you have larger snails, such as mystery snails, they are dumb enough to wedge themselves inside of them, damaging their own shells and getting stuck. (Again happened to me before with the same 1 opening hide) And it was terrible trying to get them out without smashing the decoration. Snails aren't that smart lol.Overall, nicely made ceramic hides that look fantastic. However, they don't state that these only have 1 opening and is sealed at the other end. This traps debris and food and may lure in other tank life you don't want in them which limits where I can use them. Otherwise, 5 stars.
