James and the Giant Peach Paperback – 16 Aug. 2007

I'd listened to Roald Dahl books as a child, my dad always read to me. Now I'm reading them to my kids and the stories are still gripping, funny and so descriptive. They always ask me to keep reading at the end of a chapter, always eager to find out what happens next. It's a lovely time to spend with them and stirring their imagination. If you have kids, Roald Dahl books should be top of the list

Roald Dahl's style has you entering into the character's shoes and living out his experience like it's your own, especially in this book and his other classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If you loved that one you'll like this too, and if you liked this one you'll love that one.One of the advantages of having children is that you get to enjoy reading the children's classics again, and pick up the subtleties you missed the first time.Read to your kids, it's good for them and for you, and I'm addressing you dad's out there!

Love this story and Roald Dahl for giving it to us to be able to read for ourselves and our children and our children’s children

Bought and read with my son, who’s 6 years old. I read this story when I was younger.Might have been a little long for him, so we’ve book marked the page. Will re-read with him and hope he’ll read the book himself when he is ready and able to!

Albertine loved this story and wanted to give it five stars. She especially liked the bits where all the children gather round to eat the peach. She says she didn’t like the bit with the aeroplane and the strings and what happened then.

Always loved Roald Dahl as a child and my girls have the same love for reading as I do. Bought this to add to my 7 year olds collection and she absolutely loves it. Great bedtime reading!

I loved this book when I was a child and reading it again at 43 to another child and watching the excitement in their eyes is wonderful.
