We bought this to replace one of the smoke detectors that came with the SimpliSafe original set up. It’s an exact match and is easily installed. We have these and indoor cameras in our summer house and it’s been exceptionally good.

Buying this to expand my Simplisafe alarm. Im slowly replacing my older smoke alarms with these which work with my system and will call the fire dept if needed. Ive had my Simplisafe alarm for years and it works great! The monitoring is FAST,. If I ever accidently set the wrong way, they call me before Ive even left my driveway. I bought a water detector and put it under my toilet. It worked great to warn us when I had a leak! Ordering this off Amazon was actually easier and faster than the Simplisafe site, and it arrived same day. It seamlessly hooked up to my system wirelessly when I entered the serial number. Over time I will replace every one of my 8 detectors with this kind.

It's nice to have smoke alarms connected to security alarm system. Even if we are out of town the smoke alarms will notify us and the fire department.The bad thing is that when the battery is low it doesn't give a warning, it alarms regardless of the time. The other problem is that the only way to disable the alarm is with the keypad. I don't know what will happen if we are traveling when the smoke alarm goes off.Overall, I like SimpliSafe security system, I have over 30 pieces of their equipment, I've been using it in several locations for over 7 years. Even though I like SimpliSafe I have to say that their technical support is a pain, I've spent hours on the phone with tech support.

A necessary evil for Simplisafe, but I've had two different ones of these over the past three years give off a false alarm in the middle of the night. It was a scary experience - both times. Luckily I was home both times, so I was able to stop the fire department from showing up unnecessarily. I had to replace yet another one of these, so instead, I bought their combo smoke+carbon monoxide detector because I read it is less prone to false alarms. Time will tell... if it happens again with either model, I am ditching Simplisafe for good.
