Rimmel Sunshimmer Water Resistant Instant Tan Wash Off Shimmer - Medium

Cannot believe that I can still get this amazing stuff! I'm 51 n I used this alot from the age of 13! Still as amazing as then n the smell is the same too. Smells like perfume not the biscuit smell like other tanning products. It dries really quick n when U use a kabuki brush to apply it it is absolutely amazing. Never faulted at all. Easy to wash off too. Great for my legs which are so pale they look like milk bottles. No lie. Just look at the pics 😂 but the pics don't do it justice. I've used the medium shade so it gives me a lush golden glowing tan that doesn't look fake, streaky nor patchy. I've tried so many tanning products n this by far is THE BEST! Thanks Rimmel. U never to cease to amaze.

I have used this product for years and I’m very glad to see it is still being made, although the packaging has been updated. This is a *wash off* tan product. It comes as a thick, darkly stained, gel-like liquid which needs to be applied with a glove/mitt or a sponge of some sort as it is staining to the hands, however it washes off with soap and water. I use this mainly for my face all year round and I apply it instead of/in combination with a foundation. I apply it with a foundation brush in circular motions and it gives a tanned warm glow without blemish coverage, so more of a stain, but it looks natural because of that, and often it’s all I need to wake up some glow. You only need a very small amount of product as it goes a long way. I have dark skin so I use the darkest shade, but it is quite dark. In the summer I use this on my body, especially my legs and it looks really natural (and can pass at thin denier tanned tights) it doesn’t streak if you apply quickly in circular motions and it is not waterproof. It dries very quickly and completely, feels comfortable and does not transfer to clothes unless you apply it an area that’s likely to get sweaty. Note: do not use immediately after a moisturiser or it will roll into tiny balls on your skin, let your moisturiser absorb completely first and don’t use anything too greasy, use a high water content moisturiser. Quick and easy to use for a temporary summer glow. Years of use means I can recommend this product.

I am fairly pale but this looks very natural on me. I use this as a top up on top of my usual self tan and it isn't too dark. I have also tried the rimmel sun shimmer dark instant spray tan that washes of. However this goes on much easier with a more natural looking . The only downside with these instant tans is if yiu get caught in the rain. They say water resitant but it comes of pretty easily in the bath so i wouldnt risk wearing if i was likely to rain or if i was to be outside for many hours. Overall, I would definitely recommend for a quick and easy tan in the summer or on a night out.

I’ve been using this product since the 90s & it’s amazing for giving you a suntanned look. It washes off with soap and water so you don’t need to worry about it transferring onto your dresses.

I use this all the time it’s easy to put on and doesn’t leave streaks it also has a nice shimmer in the light, washes off easily, it can mark white clothes but washes off and doesn’t leave stains

If you are looking for a good value wash-off tan that applies easily and has a good, neutral colour (I am fair to light skinned with warm undertones), this may be worth considering. However, if you are sensitive to strong scents or you are very particular about the scents you like, I'd suggest that you think twice before buying this one.Personally, the fragrance of this product was a deal breaker for me, so much so that I managed only one application from the whole tube and even then, I desperately wanted to wash it off after 10 minutes. I did want to give the product a chance however, so I persevered to see if the strong scent dissipated. Sadly, it was still too strong even after many hours. I would describe it as very 'Woods of Windsor' or a traditional, powdery scent. It lingers and if you like to wear perfume or other fragrance, then it may not be the best product to use as it could clash or 'muddy' the fragrance you are wearing.In summary, everything about this product apart from the fragrance is just fine. Why Rimmel felt the need to add such a strong and distinctive fragrance to a self-tanning product without DHA is anyone's guess but it makes it a 'no' for me.

Love this product. Very dark when you first apply but once rubbed in it turns a lovely colour. Absolute game changer if you need a tan on a spontaneous day/night out. Have already bought again
