Easy to use and follow
I absolutely love this book. I used to play guitar years ago and recently got back into playing but had forgotten most my scales until I found this little gem of a book. It is so well written and presented that it makes learning the scales all over again more fun and practicing became something I look forward to every day rather than the laborious task that it used to be. The book itself it set up to make learning much faster and putting the scales to memory is a lot easier than it used to be. It is designed for beginner and intermediate guitarists though seasoned players may find some useful material within these pages. I would recommend this book if like me you want to take your playing to the next level, though I would recommend a metronome to help you improve your speed and accuracy. I've only been using the book a few days and already have the A major, B Major and C major scales memorized with just two hours of practice every night. The guitar neck can seem intimidating and a little formidable, but with this book, you'll have it mastered in no time at all it really is that good.

Faith restored
I've bought a lot of music books over the years. Some I've returned, some discarded, some sold on. But this one is definitely a keeper. So clear and concise. Very well laid out, and good to go right from the start. If I had discovered this book earlier on it would have saved me a lot of money. Definitely great value for money, and a book I can apply to many genres. Thank you.

Good for beginners and intermediate players.
I give it 4 stars as it's A decent reference guide.Helps you visualise where a certain scale should be played.Helps you see the algorithm of the fretboard too.

Very useful guitar scale book
What a brilliant and useful book showing all sorts of scales for guitar. I especially like that it gives tablature as well as notation. This book will be invaluable to anyone wanting to practice scales, or use pentatonic scales for improvisation - I know I will be using it a lot.

Lots of info.
Comprehensive scalebook. But the bindngs could be better, as of now its a bit hard to spread it open while going through the scales.

Great. Very practical.
Good to see multiple layouts of each scale. Going on to show exactly the same scale shapes througgh all 12 semitones? A bit of a waste, I think: I can find the different keys for myself thanks. The most interesting part for me was modal scale shapes, plus a couple of 'exotic' scales (which I use extensively as I'm studying the Ritchie Blackmore way of soloing. The scales are easy to follow and well laid out.Great book, despite only 4* (personal niggles which in no way detract from the quality of the book). Definitely worth it.
