Life changing!
Paper filters are a win-win-win-win. They've cut down on my prep/drain time by at least 5x, give a little more coffee yield, are a cinch to clean up and have zero negative impact on flavor.Over the years I've gotten pretty good at soaking the grinds in such a way as to prevent settling, and my drains generally go pretty well w/o any leaks, but even so there's still the 5 minute mid-prep soak time and then at least an hour of draining to really get all the good stuff out. Now I can prep all in one shot, and draining literally takes 5 minutes, maybe 10 if I really want to get every drop out. It tastes just as good, perhaps a bit better because there's no sediment whatsoever at the bottom of the carafe. And the best part is the clean-up is so easy! Just squeeze the bag a little and dump it in the compost bin. The main filters wash out clean with a quick rinse, saving more time there, and should last longer. The only negative is the additional cost. At 75 cents a pop, it's not prohibitive, but I suppose for pieces of paper it could be a little cheaper. The time and trouble saved far outweighs this IMO, and at my rate of 50-60 carafes per year it's not terrible, less than $40. A little bit of that may be recouped from increased filter life but that's fairly marginal and you probably don't want to reuse that thing too many times anyway.Anyway, highly recommended! No way I am ever going back to just a filter.

Toddy is Top Notch
Have been making Toddy for years. These paper filters make clean up so easy, and the Toddy coffee is so smooth. Toddy coffee is the way to go.

A must if you are using the Toddy cold brew system!
Easier to make cold brew; easier to clean up from making cold brew. Making cold brew in my Toddy used to be a real pain: put in 1 cup of water and then 6oz of coffee and then 3 cups of water in a circle and then wait 5 minutes and then do another 6oz of coffee. Sigh. Certainly not something that I would do before work. With these bags, you just dump 12oz of coffee in this bag that lines the Toddy and then add 7 cups of water. That is it! I did my second set up this morning before work and it was so quick and easy to do. I use the bag on on my scale to measure out 12oz of coffee and put the bag into the Toddy, following up with the 7 cups of water and then twisting closed the bag. So easy. Clean up was incredibly easy, too. Essentially, you just lift out the bag! (Obviously, you would wash out the Toddy, but no more messy coffee grounds all over the place). In addition, the filter is way cleaner when using the bag and I bet you are extending its life by at least 50%. Remember to -- gently -- squeeze out the bag (without ripping it!) to get every last drop of coffee gold. I had been looking into different cold brew options because I found the Toddy process/cleaning so tiresome, but I have stopped looking because these bags make all the difference. Originally, I was skeptical about all those 5-star ratings; however, it really is a 5-star product - in spite of the cost being a tad more than I would like.

A True Improvement!
Paper Filters are a Great idea!!!After several years of using the Toddy on a daily basis, I could no longer get coffee with a truly coarse grind. The smaller grind would quickly ruin the felt filter and the coffee quality really degraded. Sadly, I switched to other ways of making coffee that used a medium grind. While searching for better coffee ideas, I came across the new Toddy paper filters and I thought "aha!", the answer.I immediately ordered the filters. They not only solved my problem, but they make clean up very easy, the coffee quality is even better, the final filter to carafe is faster, and the felt filter stays much cleaner so will last longer. No more sludge to deal with. While the paper filters are a bit pricey, they are worth it.I'm so glad these filters have made it possible to return to the Toddy system.

From a 30+ year user of the Toddy system
I have used the Toddy system of cold brewing since mid-1980's. It makes coffee that I really like and is perfect for someone who drinks only 1-2 cups per day and is the only coffee drinker in the house. It has always been a challenge to clean the brewing container after draining. It also seemed that there should be less liquid left in the grounds after filtering. I think the reusable filter would clog with grounds and not all the concentrate could move through. My son-in-law told me about the paper filters so I purchased some to try. Instead of a slow drip through the filter, the concentrate gushes out into the carafe. Takes a very short time and really fills the carafe. Before I would get about 3/4 carafe. The clean-up is also very easy. I could not find if the paper filter was compostable but I simply dumped the grounds out of it into my compost and disposed of the filter. If it was compostable, I would just put the whole package in the compost. This is an amazing improvement to the Toddy system. So glad!!
