As someone who loves reading about the details of real estate and who has a specific interest in the Middle East and the GCC nations, I’ve been waiting for someone to write a book like this.I have long been interested in real estate in Dubai and wanting to really understand this market. This book takes a deep dive under the hood to really give you in-depth insight into what makes this market move.While in graduate school I spent a lot of time researching and trying to understand real estate in Dubai and the GCC. It was a struggle to find accurate in-depth information about this region. Even with topnotch, Ivy League library resources, I was able to piecemeal only a superficial understanding of this market. What I yearned for was a comprehensive overview of the market and what are the main drivers there, which is exactly what this book is.I wish this book was available when I was in grad school. It would really have been a great resource to draw from. As someone who has observed the Dubai market from the outside, for years, I’ve learned some new things, even in the first chapters. And as I’m reading, I’m marking it up with notes on every page.Because I had long been looking for a comprehensive analysis of the Dubai market, as soon as I saw the publisher was putting it on pre-order, I immediately pre-purchased a copy and eagerly anticipated the actual release date. I was so excited when it finally arrived. And it has not disappointed!From a real estate perspective, what’s going on in Dubai and around the GCC right now is groundbreaking. And potentially has the ability to influence real estate and how cities are built for the rest of the 21st century, similar to the West’s influence on city building in the 20th century. So, having an understanding of what drives this market is going to be essential to those in the industry. And this book serves as a road map in the region.
