HELPED MY FRENCHIE WITH ALLERGIES!
I wanted to wait a little while before writing this review to see if it was really going to help or not.My French Bulldog Maelee had been suffering from food allergies for the past couple years. We had went to the vet numerous times and she had to be given antibiotics and ear drops that she had to take on a weekly basis for maintenance to keep ear infections from returning.I did some research on my own, to figure out that recurring ear infections are often a sign of food allergies or intolerance. I switched her food a couple times, trying to steer away from Chicken and just change the protein and I didn't see a change until I switched to this food. Since this wasn't a typical limited ingredient diet, rather a specialty diet I thought it was worth a shot it being a little bit cheaper than some of the other options but quiet a bit more expensive than the Purina Beneful or Purina One SmartBlend.I had initially started out with Beneful then changed to Purina one Smartblend with chicken then switching to lamb and it was with those dog foods she was having the allergic reactions to.She would shake her head, scratch her ears, bite her feet, and rub against the furniture all the time like she was so miserable. She would scratch scabs in her ears and it absolutely broke my heart, I can’t take that!!I knew I had to do something and not let her suffer, she is my baby. The vet didn't mention allergies after the few times we kept taking her back for ear infections, but I'm a responsible pet owner and did the research myself to figure out the cause. (No offense to our vet he’s a wonderful doctor)If your dog is suffering from allergies this food is a really good choice and worth a try. While it may be a little pricey it is well worth the reward in your dog will be a lot happier and healthier.Since switching to this food, she is no longer itching, biting her feet and we have weaned off of the maintenance ear drops from the vet even. I couldn't be happier~! The quality of life when a dog has allergies has to be absolutely miserable. I was determined to keep switching, paying any amount of money to get my dog back to normal. We also tried the Zippy Paws Aller-Immune chews right around the same time we switched to this dog food, and I'm still giving her those as well. Some of the other reviewers said there were bugs in this dog food. There were no bugs in our bag of dog food and Salmon is the first ingredient. Reading the list of ingredients is a lot better compared to some of the other dog food brands in this category.I couldn't recommend this dog food enough, and I'll continue to dish the money out each month to give it to my dog if that means she doesn't have to suffer from itchy skin and ear infections. If your on the fence about buying this because of all the negative reviews regarding bugs, I inspected my bag thoroughly and there were NO BUGS! Also Purina has very good quality control and I am loyal to this brand.**UPDATE** 09/27/2022My Frenchie has had to go back to the maintenance ear drops from the vet. It’s luckily just a call in prescription no longer requiring an exam every time but she does have to take them again. I don’t think it’s anything to do with her diet anymore rather environmental allergies on top of the protein sensitivity. This food is still working great for her. When the ear infection returned we decided to switch to Hills prescription diet d/d salmon formula, buying it from our local vet and was a lot more expensive than this food. We kept her on that for months but no change in her ears so we switched back to this. I’m still happy with this food and know it’s made her allergies a lot better. There’s just unfortunately not much you can do for environmental allergies besides allergy medicine to help from the vet. We limit her treats and try to stick with single ingredient freeze dried salmon. She’s my life and I would do anything for her. Hope this helps other dogs with food sensitivities feel better too!!If you find my review helpful please click the helpful button below, as I wrote this in hopes it would help at least one person!

All in…
Wonderful dog food my dog has chicken, allergies, and we thought it was protein. I tried a prescription dog food that was extremely expensive. Then about six months ago, I tried this, and my dog has not broken out in any hives anywhere on his body.. this is top notch dog food as I used to feed 2 cups two times a day and with this dog food I have gone to one cup twice a day and he looks amazing. The 2 cups made him a little overweight.I highly recommend this dog food

Reliable, Gentle, and My Dogs Love It
I’ve been feeding this Purina Pro Plan to my 2 German Shepherds and Australian Cattle Dog for years, and it’s been amazing for all of them. They all have sensitive stomachs, and this is the only food that consistently keeps them feeling great, no digestive issues, healthy weight, and they enjoy eating it.I also love that it’s poultry-free, which is important because my dogs don’t do well with chicken. Finding a high-quality food without poultry can be tough. Their coats are shiny and healthy, and I really believe this formula plays a big part in that.Overall, great value for what you’re getting.

Good for my dog
Very good for my sensitive stomach dog, he likes the taste and the cats too. Appearance is triangles easy to digest.

My standard poodle really likes this
My boy dog is a fussy eater. He always has been; wouldn't eat puppy food and I suspect he's harboring the soul of a French chef. But he loves this food. He does like salmon (sometimes I steam up some salmon and give the dogs a treat.). And he was very impressed with this food. He cleared his bowl of kibble and went after the other dog's (naughty) and normally he only picks away at kibble during the day.Poodles can tend to have sensitive skin (single coat, no undercoat) and they also can be sensitive to chicken. Salmon and rice is a very good combination and he's doing very well on Pro Plan Lamb. This variety of kibble has him interested in his food and it's made of good ingredients. The kibble is the right size for him (he's a 65lb dog) and it's formed of triangular-shaped kibble that are uniform in appearance. He seems to have no problem with digestion. He's a very healthy boy and since changing dog food can be a bit tricky with poodle tummies, I'm going to keep him on this as long as his health is maintained at a good level. The bag is a bit heavy for me, so I put it in a storage bin to keep it fresher and allow me to scoop out his dinner more easily.

Great for poultry allergies!
My dog has allergies to poultry. Apparently this is a pretty common allergy for a golden doodle. My vet suggested we try the salmon formula of Purina Pro Plan. We gradually introduced this new food into his old food until we replaced it fully. I can't even begin to explain the difference in our dog since we have made the switch. It does smell stronger than the Purina Chicken and Rice formula we were using, but my dog doesn't seem to mind and eats every meal with the same enthusiasm. I would caution you to consult your vet before changing your dog's food. I've made that mistake before with another dog, it was a very messy mistake! I love that Amazon offers delivery of dog food. I use the subscribe and save feature for this and have been pleased. My dog's health has improved, he's happy and eating, and although this formula is slightly more expensive than the chicken and rice formula it is worth it in folds.

No more upset stomach issues
Finally I found something to help my fur baby's tummy, and she loves the taste, her fur is now nice and shiny, so far Amazon has the best pricing. If your fur baby has stomach issues I recommend this.
