The Body Electric by Robert O. Becker is a seminal exploration of the role electromagnetism plays in human physiology, revealing groundbreaking research on limb regeneration, bone piezoelectricity, and protein semiconductors. Though published over 30 years ago, it remains a vital resource for medical science enthusiasts and professionals eager to grasp the electric foundations of life.

Probably the best book for a newcomer to medical science
An utterly brilliant book describing a research pathway leading to the growth of lost limbs. Its thirty years old but full of information which should be in medical textbooks but isnt. The author was four times mominated for the nobel but didnt get it because he campaigned for better microwave regulations.

Fascinating
The blurb on the back talks of proof of psychic phenomenon and acupuncture but that is far form what the text explains. A very well written account of an orthopedic surgeons research into some very interesting physiology. An exploration of the electric control system in the body, long shunned by science, but now being used to treat diseases such as alzheimer's. It introduces concepts such as the piezoelectricity of bones and the semiconducting properties of proteins. An exciting read for anyone with an interest in physiology or electronics. Best read in a while.

A must read for everyone.
This book is very enlightening. It gives a lot of detail about the experiments that he did, and how the body uses electric. The book goes onto talk about electricity that is being used in the home and by the govenments that can cause malfuntion in nature. It is a book I would recommend averyone to read as we are all affected by these modern day currents and need to know about our choices as inhabitants of this planet.

The Body Electric
What a great book, I enjoyed reading this book so much that I've just read it again, it's the kind of book that needs to be read a few times because of all the information it contains.. it's rather sad though that 95% of the orthodox/allopathic medical community have ignored Dr Becker's research & continue to believe the outdated crap they're taught in medical school... Electromedicine is the future.. I recommend this book to anyone at all interested in looking outside the box of chemically based medicine & the dangerous pharmaceutical industry that controls it...

Meh
I give 4 stars for the seller because it arrived on time and as described, but I’ll be honest I couldn’t make it far in this book...it’s all hypothetical and kind of silly in my opinion. Maybe if I had made it farther I would have a different opinion, but...can’t do it...I checked out of this book and will donate it.

Thank you!
I bought this book as a present for my God Daughter, whyo is studying medicine and neurobiology. I think all students of neurobiology, of developmental biology, and medicine, should have read this book. Dr Becker was highly respected in his time. What happened is well described in the final chapter of the book, and in that is a warning for all who stake their futures on a life in research. If the research he cites in this book is true and valid, there is an entire textbook missing from the shelf of the medical students text books. There is a black hole in medical understanding. The Body Electric is truly extraordianry. If you are not interested in developmental biology, or tissue regeneration (Dr Beckers primary motivation as an orthopedic surgeon), then slip through to the chapter Maxwell's Silver Hammer.... Fundemental reading for biologists, and medics. Dr Stephen McGill

The Body Electric introduces totally new mind set in terms of how human body functions. After reading it one could say we are truly electric machines :) Also anybody who is into tai chi or similar activities and also likes scientific approach towards life should get this book and spend enjoyable time reading it!
