I ordered this to give to my daughter for her 6th birthday because she is currently obsessed with music boxes. It’s absolutely precious and I know she’s going to love it. I of course had to try it out and I was a little surprised that the glass ball portion isn’t attached to the wooden base. It just sets atop the base and the whole thing rotates on the metal plate that serves as the winding mechanism. It sits there pretty securely and I’m not really concerned about it falling off so that’s not a big deal to me. I’ll just have to let my kiddo know not to take it off and play with it because I’m sure it’d break with a hard enough knock onto the floor. It’s beautiful though when the light shines through it and the song is a good volume and very clear. I’m very happy with the product.

This crystal ball music box is beautiful and has a lovely song that it plays. The crystal ball part is heavy and sits on the a hole in the wooden base. The light is controlled by a toggle switch on the side. You have to rotate the base to wind up the music box. The first issue is that it is hard to rotate the base with the ball sitting on it, even with my big hands it's not that easy. Second is that when the light is on the ball lights up beautifully, but the light that shines on the ceiling ( the second picture) is not nice at all, I would say that its annoying. And the last thing is the metal toggle switch on the side is not very attractive. I would think any other kind of switch would have been better. All in all it is beautiful, but has some flaws

The media could not be loaded.  This is a gorgeous music box. The song is perfect for a fireworks show, and the lights are pretty. I like the way it winds up. Turning the dial at the bottom is much easier for children, and my son is who I got this for. He collects music boxes, and he loves fireworks. So when I saw this, I couldn't pass it up. I have only one issue with this, but it is kind of a big issue. The crystal ball that has the fireworks in it does not attach to the base. It just sits on top of it. That wouldn't be a huge deal except in order to wind it up, you have to pick the base up to turn the wheel on the bottom. So either your hands have to be big enough to be able to hold the crystal and the base with one hand while using the other to wind it, or the ball has to be taken off and set somewhere so it can be wound up. Neither one of these is ideal when considering that it's for a child. I didn't know that when I ordered it. I don't really understand why it was designed that way. I think for anyone it would be a hazard. It's a shame, because it is such a lovely music box. I would not recommend it for younger kids. The unattached ball could cause serious injury, but would be a wonderful gift for an older child, or adult.

This could be a very neat, supervised gadget for kids. I found the colorful light show very bright for me, almost agitating and dramatic as a nightlight but super as a colorful gadget to be fascinated by. It reminds me of a hologram, which are intriguing to me. My item only played lights and no music. The mermaid princess is a popular character that most kids I think relate to. Perhaps it would be a nice gift when the holidays arrive again.The wonderful colors merge from pink, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, to white, and back again (see photos). The USB cord recharged the system well for the LED lights. I found the lights almost brighter on the ceiling than reflected within the crystal ball, which ended up feeling annoying. There is a stop and go feeling, with lights going really dim and then showing really bright again. I had ordered this for I thought I could use another nightlight, and I always loved music boxes. It had seemed like a creative solution.However, the music did not play for me at all, nor did this music box rotate. I was disappointed by this, as well. I noticed my lovely, natural beech wood base arrived with a long cut in the bottom of it, which was likely not a good sign (see photo). In any event, if it were to rotate, play music, plus lights, then this could be very entertaining and special to some enthusiasts.

This is a very pretty globe. The glass itself is heavy very smooth and nice. However the design inside there are a few obvious bubbles. They do not take away from the design, but our present and noticeable. The base itself is also imperfect. It is designed in such that you cannot have it plugged in for the light and have it rotate with the music at the same time. The plug-in for the base should have been designed to where it could still rotate. Overall it's very pretty I would consider giving this as a gift but not for something too special.

This is such a precious gift to give a little one who loves things that light up, make music and it even spins after you wind it up. It charges up to flip the light switch on and the lights rotate through colors. The charge holds for a great amount of time from what I can tell. It hasn't died yet but we plug it in every now and then anyways. The music plays via wind up on the bottom. When you wind it up an set it down, it spins. I do think it's a little bit of a risk to have little ones wind it up because they HAVE to be sure to take the globe off of it first. It is not fixed in place and it will fall off and it is heavy enough to badly break toes! All in all, it's gorgeous. The sound is clear and the lights are a beautiful touch.

This is a beautiful crystal ball music box. Three of my grandchildren just came for a visit and they were so pleased with the changing lights. It even produced a giant changing circle of light on the ceiling. The music and rotation of the crystal ball made it even more beautiful. Very pretty!!

This clear crystal ball that has beautiful display of fireworks that light up an change colors as it is sitting on its rotating wooden musical base. It is a wind up display with the knob being on the bottom of the base out of site. This would be a nice piece of accessory for your end tables, shelf, vanity, ect...can even be used in the nursery or toddlers room for the soothing lullaby an light show.
