It works
Allows you to connect your old Sega Genesis/ Mega Drive with your new TV. Do not expect high definition as this is impossible due to technical limitations (search online to learn why). But the cable does the work and it's affordable.

I can play my Genesis again!
I never thought I would have an excuse to bring one of my oldest consoles out of mothballs. But it looks like some mad genius went and made an adapter kit that actually does what it advertises! I have nothing else to share but a big ol' thanks!

Great upgrade
This is a huge improvement over the coax connector that the system originally comes with. It’s like night and day if you look at the differences. Completely worth it if you Want to play on newer Televisions

You may still need an HDMI cable
You may still have to purchase an HDMI cable as it didn't come with one and I had to have one. Also the cord you plug into your Sega (not the one for the power block but the other) is nearly too big around to go through the hole in the console. It's a very tight fit. But it does work! I gave for stars because it didn't come with an HDMI cable and from the sale post and it's details I believed it had everything I would need.

Did not work with my Model 2
Sound was as expected but the picture was very dim, almost not visible. PC BD MD2 VA1.8 USA. Composite video out was bright and ok.

Almost perfect.
I admit that I put off reviewing the Kaico HDMI converter for a while - partially because I couldn't remember where I put my Genesis, but more because I was afraid I'd be disappointed. I didn't need to be. It works very well. While the pixels aren't as crisp as they are on the Genesis Mini, for an analog to digital conversion they look fantastic. I started my qualitative evaluation by playing Streets of Rage 2 and Bare Knuckle 3. Both games looked great, and if there was any input lag, it was imperceptible. But to be more scientific about it, I then switched to my CRT test cart, which has a number of tests for evaluating A2Ds such as this one. I was delighted to find that this converter passed every visual test. It fell behind by no more than one frame on the manual input lag test, which must be viewed in light of my 45-year-old reflexes. For a device as affordable as this one, I was simply amazed. The hardest thing to accept is that my extensive collection of CRTs may not be as necessary as previously thought. The only visual defect I noticed was the presence of some vertical banding in large areas of solid color. I tried to capture it in one of the pictures I posted, but it's harder to see there than it is in person. It's subtle, regardless. If you still have your old Genesis/MegaDrive/Neo Geo AES laying around and want to continue using it in the years to come, this is a device you definitely need to own.

Does exactly what it says it should do. I purchased this to interface a Mega Drive 1. to my Toshiba 65" flatscreen. It works well. The adapter needs an external 5V PSU so i just use a power bank to save messing around with another power socket. It seems to use very little energy so should last a long time between power bank charges. The picture is very good for the price. You can see and measure every pixel with ease. Initially there were quite bad vertical bars ( People call them jail bars ) running down the screen. This is an issue with the early mark one Mega Drive and not a fault of the adapter itself. A simple mod to the Mega Drive board has cleaned them up to the point were they are now unnoticeable unless you go looking. For those interested i simply shorted pin6 on IC 13 ( CXA1145 ) to ground. This mod turns the composite video black and white but it can easily be reversed by removing the short. So Yes, I recommend this product with or without the mod, it's a massive improvement on composite or RF. The converter takes the RGB-S signal from the AV port at the rear of the mega drive and converts it to 1080P HDMI. The sound on the Mark1 is only output as mono from the rear of the Mega Drive but it still sounds sweet through my AV amp. It's not worth the bother to recover stereo sound for me, but if you wanted to you could knock up some leads and do it that way.

Simply plug it in using which ever one of the adapters fit your old console, and you're back playing all your favourite games from the 90s on your smart TV!

Incroyable ! La qualité est bluffante sur grand écran. S'il y a le même pour la N64, je suis preneuse ! 🤩

Excelente relación calidad precio. Evidentemente, no simula una TV de tubo ni tiene efectos de postproceso, pero funciona y se ve genial. No he apreciado retardo al jugar en ninguno de los modos de visualización que ofrece. Muy recomendable.
