It works so far
Early days, but I've had this installed on the lower immersion heater in my Stanton Premier Plus unvented water heater and it's been working fine for a week now.I've given it 2 stars for value for money because I think all these cheaply mass produced items are vastly overpriced now, *but* given the available range of prices, this one was at the lower end so you probably won't get a better deal.Depending on your experience with these things, this is relatively easy to install, with no need to drain the water heater - it all happens on the outside. But obviously you need to be super careful to switch off the electricity to the heater first, and connect the wires the right way around.Once installed you can choose from a setting of 1 to 5. Mine's on 4 and it's plenty hot without being scolding. I think I read that this corresponds to 60 degrees Centrigrade.I'll be interested to see how long this thermostat lasts as I've seen worrying reviews suggesting these don't always last that long. If it breaks too soon, I will try to remember to leave an update hereto let people know.[Update 28/11/20: over 3 weeks now and going strong. Comes on of its own accord(lower immersion heater) every night and gives me nice hot water that usually lasts all day without me having to ever use the upper immersion. Well pleased.][Update: 07/06/22: been a good year and a half now and still working great - on every night for economy heating]

Just what i needed
Was having problems with my old one, kept having to reset it, then my water stopped heating so ordered this to see if it would work before phoning an engineer in, It worked thankfully and was so easy to install, my water is hotter than it was before, great value for money, would buy again, hopefully not to soon though lol

Cured a phantom over-heat trip on the old thermostat
Bought this to replace an existing 'stat which kept tripping the over-heat function randomly and then progressively got worse even at low temperatures where a manual reset was then needed. This is a simple replacement with just two screws for the cables - one for live and one for neutral and is a push fit on to the immersion. No more phantom trips hopefully :)Update Feb 2021 - still working as expected unlike it's counterpart on the boiler coil side which has now started doing a similar trip at low temperatures - as another reviewer mentions, it's puzzling why they are so pricey relatively
