I have never crocheted before, only knitted. The kit comes with video and written instructions for each animal. It also comes with video instructions on basic crochet techniques such as the magic circle, increases, decreases, and changing yarn color. My 12 yo son and I both practiced with the basic skills video until we felt comfortable enough to start with the animal pattern. The chicken came out cute. I used the wing pattern for the beak , because the original beak looked big on him.The videos are very helpful and as a beginner I couldn’t have done it without them.The only thing the written pattern doesnt mention is that you flip your work after row 7 so thst the right side is out and you start crocheting clockwise instead of counter clockwise. It does show this step in the video though.

The patterns and price is excellent. HOWEVER, the yarn is some chenille type—soft and frays easily. And due to the fuzziness, it’s difficult to isolate stitches and counting can be challenging. The yarn makes it pretty frustrating to use as a beginner.The videos are fine—no spoken words but instruction is displayed on the screen as well.Will update is I finish the projects at all, or will likely buy different beginner yarn from Woobles or Hejin to complete the projects.

This kit is honestly such a good deal for what you get: 4 full sized balls of yarn with all the crochet knick-knacks to make 3 plushies. The yarn is very splitty but I was used to working with splitty yarns from knitting and was able to work around it.I was basically a complete beginner to crochet but managed to make a wonky chicken plush. He's a little messed up but I love him.The pattern is clear but will not hand-hold you if you're a complete beginner, like I was. The video tutorial provided alone will probably not be enough either to get you through the pattern. You will have to do some extra research to figure out how to do the basic crochet techniques like magic circle, single crochet, increases, and decreases. Luckily, youtube is free. The provided tutorial was super helpful in showing how to assemble the final product though.Highly recommend just for the value of the kit. Bonus points for the cute chicken.

The yarn is so soft and comforting! It also includes easy to follow instructions. Love this kit!!!

I just started crocheting and had started with Woobles kits. I had this one and tried to start it and to be far I am a very early on learner; however, I feel that the quality of this yarn is not that great and I had a very rough time with it fraying constantly, I could not get the magic loop started. The instruction videos are also very fast to follow, and the written instructions might be hard if this is someone’s first time crocheting at all.

Avid knitter and wanted to learn how to crochet. Instructions were very clear and included links to video tutorials. You have enough leftover yarn to make 2 extras, super cute!

I liked the colors of wool for this Easter . Cute any grandchild would love a finished yellow duck to play with. Perfect for for their little hands.Problem, opened the box to take out equipment with wool and rings and before we got the ring out, it disappeared. Couldn’t understand written instructions because we couldn’t find it.We went on the site for instructions and they talked so fast and we needed ring. So much fo a beginner kit!
