Finally a great wireless option for GameCube
This is a great wireless option for the GameCube. I mainly picked this up to play GameBoy Player and retro games with it. I love that its wireless and has RUMBLE! Very happy with the purchase. The d-pad takes a little getting used to, but I did not experience any accidental / missed inputs. I can touch the edge of the left or right d-pad and it won't activate the other directions, unless I'm trying to.The analog stick feels great and to the reviewer that said they didn't know it was not Bluetooth. It clearly states 2.4 GHz in the descriptions. Its very easy just plug the included USB wireless dongle into the dock and you are good to go!Overall highly recommend!

Comfortable, but with a few issues.
So the pad has some pros and cons, comfortable to hold, all the buttons and triggers feel nice. The dpad has an issue though, and that it has trouble properly detecting diagonals. When doing things like half and quarter circles it seems to have trouble finding the diagonals, and it doesn't even detect them at all sometimes when pressing the diagonal straight on. I can not recommend this pad for fighting games if you plan to use the dpad heavily, but that is a pretty big hit as the reason to get this pad over the battler or other pads was supposed to be the better dpad, I find it disappointing. The sticks and triggers seem to be fine, but I have seen online some people having issues which seem to relate to QC problems potentially with the receiver, so do be aware of that.Overall I do like the design of this pad, it feels nice to hold, buttons feel good, but I think Retrofighters should have done more testing with the dpad and look into any potential qc problems.

Almost great, suffers from critical flaw with triggers.
Comfort, button feel, and analog sticks seem to be pretty great. I have heard of drift/calibration issues, but mine doesn't suffer from that luckily. This controller has a major flaw though: the triggers do not have the digital click at the end. This is a unique feature of the original GameCube controller in that it is both digital and analog. Games such as Rogue Squadron 2 make heavy use of the difference between the digital click and the analog position of the triggers.Retro Fighters advertised the triggers on these controllers as "Pressure sensitive" which sounds like a way to emulate the combo analog+digital feature of the original controller. As far as I can tell, what they really mean is they behave exactly like any analog-only trigger we've had for the last 2 decades. The digital click is simply at the end of the travel distance of the trigger with button pressure having absolutely no influence in the matter.Trying to play Rogue Squadron 2 (especially X-Wing) just doesn't work. You simply cannot accelerate without frequently accidentally hitting the non-existent digital click, which closes the wings and disables weapons. It is not playable.I'm dumbfounded they actually shipped this controller without a major feature like this. For some games, it is almost like shipping an N64 controller without a Z button or a Playstation controller without a Triangle button.
