This is a perfect solution to keep your otherwise in working order Dyson going. It was easy to install and works as it should.

This item is a perfect replacement (for the Dyson Ball Animal 2) after the bolt holding the brush bar stripped out. It is the complete cleaner head, including the attaching plastic piece. It does not appear that the brush is designed for the end user to replace, but the bolt had torn up a bit of the plastic of the original cleaner head anyway, so here we are.The look is a little different than the original, but this isn't an issue. It has one job. Buying through Amazon (at least the seller we purchased through) was about $20 cheaper than replacing the part direct through Dyson.

Five star rating for now. Just bought it yesterday, and installed it in 3 minutes today and it’s working perfectly.NOTE - this was purchased for a Dyson Cinetic Animal Allergy Big Ball UP14, which according to the Dyson website uses part #966502-1. As far as I can tell, it’s the same part. Same size, same design, same connectors except the new clip is grey instead of red. It fits and works, which is really all I care about.

Perfect replacement for my Animal 2. It is an original Dyson replacement head...this newer head does not have the writing on the front as the older head for the animal 2. Absolutely NO LOSS of suction! My guess from reviews indicating a loss of suction is due to operator error when installing. I squeezed the new attachment into place firmly before snapping on the plastic half-circle binder. I also replaced both filters, and this decade old Animal 2 is sweeping like it's brand new. IMPRESSIVE!

I saw the reviews about the head decreasing suction and I really didn't believe them because the suction is created in the tank. But I think the suction is slightly less than with the factory head somehow. But it's frankly not enough to convince me to spend four times as much on OEM Dyson head. This one works just fine and in fact I might just buy one of these once a year instead of going through the trouble of cleaning the head LOL
