I had been using wood purchased at my local big-box stores. That wood was ok, but was not as precisely cut nor as flat as this wood. Also, maple and cherry in this size was not available at the big box stores. I will be using this wood and this seller again. I am doing CNC carving.

I am refinishing a Les Paul electric guitar. I’m a novice at that so I need to learn how to use finishes and dyes properly. Obviously, I don’t want to be experimenting on my Les Paul so I purchased this because the Les Paul had a maple front.I will learn how to use the finishing products using this purchase before I apply them to the guitar.The only reason I didn’t give everything 5 stars is simply because the price is hard to swallow. I don’t mean it’s expensive compared to similar products offered by others. It’s just VERY expensive to me considering how little lumber there really is here. But I shopped carefully and selected this because it was the best price/quantity I could find.As far as the quality of the maple planks are concerned, they are as close to perfect as I’ve ever seen. The quality even exceeds that of my guitar which is saying a lot. I sure hope I can learn how to do a cherry sunburst finish with these before typing it on my guitar.The guitar body is mahogany so I purchased some of that for the same reason. That is why the photo shows both the maple and the mahogany.

I purchased these planks to make dividers for the chess sets I was making. The planks had nice grain and were sanded to a smooth finish. I ripped each board into 1" pieces and made the slots to connect them on the table saw. Many of the planks were slightly thicker than 1/8 inch so I had to use my drum sander to get them all to the same thickness. Even so, it was much easier than trying to make them from larger boards and it saved lots of time. I definitely recommend this company and will use them again if I have the need.

What one would expect from a premium priced wood - straight and flat. No warpage.

Not cheap- but less than most local options. Very nice quality wood
