Made a great cable repair on my Classic Car fast & Secure!
I had a broken Pull to Release handle & cable to the manual convertible top on my rare classic 1989 Trans Am GTA convertible! The cable had stretched then kinked at the pull handle and would not return to the pull position, so the back of the top would not secure down to the tonneau cover when you raised the top up with the latch held open all the time. Thus the bottom of back of the top would flop from the wind when driving. Huge problem for a totally stock very well preserved classic car! Ordered this tool & made quick work of repaint the cable so the handle works properly now & keeps the bottom back top bow/seal tighly closed & secure. The very reasonable cost of this DIY tool and parts was considerably less than a top shop & allowed the car to stay 100% original. Thanks AMAZON for making this "once in a lifetime" use tool available to purchase!

Great addition to toolbox
Ever want something stronger than a zip tie ? Maybe not so convenient but so much stronger and longer lasting. The crimps are a bit small for my fingers, but I had larger ones and it worked like a charm for hanging an outside decoration. Just let your imagination goooo...

Solid crimper, with mostly useful inserts. Did the job and cost less than the replacement cable.
Was used to fix a broken snowblower impeller cable. The inserts weren’t exactly the correct fit for the cable but as they were crimp type - a little extra “elbow” and it worked. Easy to figure out how to use, and so far it has stayed snug and working. Good buy considering it cost less than the replacement part and I can get more uses out of it than just the snowblower repair.

Great Tool for the Price and for Small Diameter Aluminum Ferrules
I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for someone else, for crimping 1mm stranded wire for hanging small to medium weight art pieces. I find that it works quite well. Given the price, one cannot expect an industrial grade crimper, but for limited use with small wires and aluminum ferrules, it is perfect. Keep in mind, this is only designed for ferrules up to 2.2mm. I use a 1.2mm double barrel aluminum ferrule for 1mm stranded wire. For safety, I always use two ferrules. I also found that the cutter portion of the tool cuts 1mm steel stranded wire easily and cleanly.I did not try the tool with steel ferrules, which take more force to crimp. This tool would probably be okay for the smallest steel ferrules, but might not work well for larger ones. So, in general, I would recommend that users stay with aluminum with this tool.I would recommend that before use, the tool's moving parts should be lubricated with light oil. You also have to learn how to use the locking button properly. The crimper does not come with instructions, but the drawings with the listing are clear (see attached photo). You have to press the crimper jaws firmly together to release the locking button, which slides down away from the jaws. Locking is done in the reverse order. One thing you have to be aware of when crimping is if the jaws are pointing downwards when you crimp, the locking button may slide from gravity into the locked position and then it can be hard to unlock after doing the crimp. (If this happens, press the jaws very tightly on the crimp.) To avoid this, you need to either not have the jaws pointing downwards or use a piece of tape to keep the button in the unlocked position while working. If you get really irritated, you could cut the locking button barrel and just remove it from the tool. It is really only used to make storage more convenient and protect the crimping jaws when not in use.

Great set
After years of fighting to make heavy leaders I finally bought a real crimper. Should have bought it years ago, works great.

Perfect for bike cables
I bought this to do some maintenance on my son's mountain bike replacing the rear derailleur, lever, and front brake calliper. This tool cut the steel bike cable very easily with no fraying whatsoever. Compared to using diagonal pliers it was really amazing. It then made a beautiful round crimp on the end caps using the second to smallest crimp size. Again, compared to the diagonal pliers method of crimping this is tool produced a far superior result that should not deform the cable inside the crimp.A buddy of mine that does a lot more work on bikes than me previously swore by the diagonal pliers (side cutter) methods. He was over at the time said that from now on he would never use the pliers again and just come to my house for any cable work.Although I've only used it once the tool seems very solid and I expect it would stand up to heavy use.

A mediocre crimper. Not for heavy duty.
Its an okay crimper for the price for a light purpose. Definitely wont recommend it if you plan on using this regularly.
