Ideal for car restorations
Bought the shultz gun version and what a difference!Coverage is great all be it a bit messy!Really does transform into a mist that clings to everything when sprayed at 90psi and above.Recommend sitting the can in a bucket of very hot water before use or spraying it on a warm day as this makes the wax thinner and flow better .I used it on a car restoration project after some engine bay repairs and coated all the bay (I covered up the engine ) in a good coating of wax... The smell does fade off and isn't that unpleasant really.Great price on amazon for this as my project goes on I do hunt for good prices and deals as costs soon mount up!!Very impressed and easy to clean off yourself (hot water and soap) car and other things (panel wipe/ white sprit. )Recommend ideally a didposable gloves and goggles set up too

Prevents rust
To anyone unfamiliar with this stuff, it's like gloopy wax that when you put it on metal with a brush or thin and spray it, eventually it goes hard like candle wax and seals the metal preventing corrosion. The 5L tins are cheaper per volume than smaller sizes and its useful for protecting metal things if you live in a rust inducing environment like damp UK and/or near the sea. There are similar products around that work on grease/oil coating. Steam cleaning will remove waxoyl should you ever want it gone.

Long lasting value for money.
Does what it says on the tin. Needs to be used in very warm weather when it it's self is warm and will spray or brush on easily. Avoid contact with interior materials and seat belt webbing.

Product good. Container seriously lacking
My last 1 litre can purchased still had the price label. It was £3.99 so quite a while ago but had the metal screw on lid. Glad I kept the lid to transfer to the new tin as "Waxoyl" in their wisdom (or rather, lack of it ) now send the cans with a push on, Ill fitting plastic cap which falls off at a whim. Perhaps they are hoping that the contents will dry up prematurely promoting further selling opportunities for them.I suggest that unless you have an old can purchased at a time Waxoyl had more common sense, and you do decide to purchase this product, decant it into a sealable container to preserve your investment.Product good. Container seriously lacking.

Easiest way to protect and prevent rust
I have used Waxoyl on my cars for many years and its seems to have kept them reasonably rust free and in good condition. I have tried all sorts of pressure sprayers from Waxoyl and they usually break after a couple of uses, I have found the Tetrosyl hand sprayer the easiest and most convenient for me, just dip the feed tube into the 5ltr can and pull the trigger to spray. I find it is essential to warm the can either in a bowl of hot water (make sure the lid is off the can of waxoyl before warming) or leave out in the sun on summers day to thin the waxoyl before attempting to spray. I have also used it thinned down with white spirit and it works well as sometimes the waxoyl can be lumpy and block the sprayer inlet filter. I prefer the clear over the black and use it anywhere i can get to apart from brakes and hot engine parts and exhaust. Its a good idea to remove any heavy or loose rust or paint but then apply a good coating and leave to solidify. It does smell a bit but any spilt on hot parts soon burns off and within a few days the smell is gone. The worst part of the job is cleaning the sprayer and if you want to use it more than once you will need to make sure its cleaned thoroughly with white spirit, washing up detergent and hot water.
