awesome quality, ive really been putting this through its paces the last few days but it's really standing up to a beating. if you use dyed leather you'll leave little marks of dye within the rubber mat as a heads up if youve not used one of these before- the light color and translucency lets you see all of that. the white solid board can slide a bit when you're using it, but the rubber mat seems to be better about that.

Honestly, I haven't used them yet, but: the mats arrived quickly and in good condition. Here's what I found: One large, stiff felt mat, 2 layers each of about 1/4" textile felt. One white poly board with protective film on one face. One semi-transparent yellowish board of some kind of synthetic rubber (not silicone). The white and yellow boards are about 1/2" thick with square-cut edges. Both these had an oily feel to them so I wiped them down with diluted rubbing alcohol. The yellow board feels about right for use with pricking irons or diamond chisels; the white board should be good for things like round or oval punches (I use an old 18x24" maple cutting board for stamping). As a precaution, I beveled the 'sharp' edges and corners to prevent unwanted marking of workpieces.

This product was shipped quickly and was used for many holes which were punched during a festival event and saved the cutting edge for all of our punches. Would recommend.

If you want to keep your punches sharp this pad is for. It's well made & will hold up for a long time.

It’s worth every penny. It does save your tools and it’s makes it easier when you’re cutting or punching holes into the leather.
